Lake Tahoe is Gorgeous but this Resort is Average

All in all, the Marriott Timber Lodge resort is at the bottom of my list of all Marriott resorts where I have stayed in Spain, Virginia, Florida, and South Carolina: the rooms are small and were only superficially clean (hadn't been dusted or vacuumed well, icebox wasn't clean), places where the woodwork and paint was damaged in the rooms and hallways, and the furnishings seemed old. Marriott upgraded all their bedding a couple of years ago and that was still the best part of the bedroom accomodations. 95% of the rooms don't have balconies and there's no place in the resort to eat outside, nor sit outside except in the noisy pool area The resort had only one on-site restaurant at the food was only fair, atmosphere more like a bar. The Valet staff were excellent but the concierge desk seemed ill-informed about routine information you come to expect in most hotels, such as location of nearby ATMs, list of restaurants, and expanded internet services. It would be nice if this information was pre-printed and available in the lobby or by request. I loved the Lake Tahoe area and was outdoors all day everyday and the weather was gorgeous so I loved my vacation. But staying at this resort was a mediocre experience.
