Christopher Dodge House, Providence

Hi...just wanted to add to all reviews that there is another adress,worngly made,at the GOOGLE maps that shows a STATE INNS on the other side of the higway..WICH MAKES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE for those who choose to be close to RISD or BRWON and the rest of most interessses in Providence area!!! I told Helen,the lady in charge the morning I realized that problem but she told me that this is a GOOGLE problem..not their problem. Well..I really think that isnt fair that they take advantage of having a "fake" adress in a better area of the town..but when the guest arrive is surprised finding out that he is NOT in the area he suposed to be..(even if it was a GOOGLE's mistake!!)...For people not familiar with Providence streets etc...the adress 11 PARK ROW WEST is similar to 11 PARK WEST ST...... And I want to add that even they gave me a nice room..there is just a door size closet for the whole family in both rooms.

We hated the noise from the highway and checked out early and went to another inn in the area that was quiet and not on the highway. Breakfast was average and the innkeeper was never around.

We have stayed at the Christopher Dodge House at least 8 times as it is close to Brown University where our son attends school. It is one of the restored State House Inns. It is charming, clean, welcoming, and convenient to everything in the area.

The building looks nice from the outside (its the only one in the neighborhood by the way that is nice)The area of town is depressed and at night turns into a bit of a war zone with drunks and drug addicts lurking. WE were almost mugged on our way back to the inn at night. WE also were not able to get any sleep because of the highway noise . Literally the highway is outside our window. Not a great place for an inn!! WE checked out.
