You will have regrets. Do the research.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/10
If a noisy, poorly maintained overheated condo with maids that steal and managers that are rude liars are what you desire, you have found the ideal location. As they say, it's about location and this is it.

Hidden Costs for Location?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/12/10
Be warned. Your car and belongings are subject to theft. Noise, heat control, service and condo wear are just a few of the hidden costs they leave out of the brochure. These condos actually have ear plugs at the bedside. You'll need them. Don't bother calling the front desk as the staff has attitude and should but clearly do not care.

wonderful experience
By erin, 4/26/09
Came up the tuesday after Labor day and the place was dead quiet! We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo next to the lift - could be loud depending on the crowd of people using the lift. Only complaint was 80% of the restaurants/stores were closed as it was now off season. Everything in the condo was great - couldn't ask for more. About 15 minutes from town/lake tahoe which had a wonderful newly renovated city beach park my 2.5 year old loved! Plan to come back and stay at the same resort. Well worth the price and enjoyed the peace and quiet of being there off season.

overpriced for what you get !
By helen, 3/21/09
Normally, we stay at the Marriot Mountainside in Park City, but were unable to go there this year, so we came here. In comparison, this seems very"down-at-the-heels".It is very noisy at night...we have a 3 bedroom condo but the beds are hard, the pillows are cheap foam, the television is ancient ;it is like a cheap interstate motel.

Hot and Noisy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/08
Room was hot so the windows had to be open. No control over heat. With the windows open we had to listen to the fraternity type partying until 4AM. Luckily the slopes dont open until 9am so you can nap late. I write this at 7:30am eathing breakfast with my bleary eyed family that has not slept in two nights. Two nights more. Everything else was great.

Overpriced condo-basic amenities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/08
The location was great to access skiing, and under ground parking is a pleasure. The room was clean and nicely laid out. Room took 12 plus hours to warm up, heat was down and door open. Room wasnt available at check in, and finally moved to another room-parking lot view. Noisy at night from snow removal in the parking lot and walkways. Daily room cleaning didn happen until 5:00pm daily(Should be done alot earlier, especially for skiers). Access to the main desk area is very confusing and difficult to find. Room doesnt have a safe for your personal belongings, provides coffee for only one day, no pool, mediocre work out facilities. We visited at Christmas and paid top dollar for a basic three bedroom condo/waited for check in....$1700 /night. The resort area lacks resturants for dining. We were glad the skiing was good.

Can't wait to return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
I have read all the reviews on The Village before we chose our vacation and had some reservations about my choice. That was all put to rest once we arrived. We were greeted with very friendly employees. Parking was great - underground parking which made us feel really secure leaving the car there. Our room was on the 4th floor (top floor) facing the mountain and over the spa - I do not think there is a such thing as a bad view. The room was the one bedroom w/den which was plenty of room for us and our 3 teenage boys. I just could not get over the cleanliness of the room and I am very picky, even the bathrooms were outstanding. Everything was above anything I thought I would get. There is a full kitchen - refridgerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. There is pots and pans, utinsels, silverware, dishes, mugs, knives and glasses - all so clean they looked like new. All appliances work very well. We went into Tahoe City to go grocery shopping (5-10 min drive) and cooked a great Thanksgiving dinner which we shared with the employees that had to work. When the boys came in from the snow (man-made, but good enough for them)we dried their clothes in the laundry area. The Village shops and restaurants were also very friendly and reasonably priced - we tried to hit the different places but we missed some during our 5 days there. We ate mostly at the Blue Coyote because of the sports scene and the very friendly service, not to mention good food. They have fire pits throughout that you can sit and talk by and a large Christmas tree in the middle. Check out was just a phone call leaving a message that we would be going. Noise - there was none, rooms are well insulated and we did not get any truck unloading noise. We had the snow making machine outside and you could not hear it unless you had the window open. Heat - the temperature was just perfect - we made it a little hot because we loved the fire place and we messed around with the tile heat, but it was perfect. I saw that they have portable fans if you need it during the summer months. I can hardly wait to return. It is a beautiful place with wonderful people and I will recommend it to everyone I know. Thanks for a great time!

Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/07
Aug.07-My daughter and I just returned from 2 nights at the squaw valley. Our room was upgraded to a one bedroom. We paid for a studio. It faced the courtyard of shops & restaurants and the magnificent view! The cable car ride was spectacular-bring your camera! We checked out the hot tub in our bldg. It was very clean & plenty of towels. A shower as well with exercise equipment. . Everything was clean & staff very friendly. We had a easy check in and we called by phone to check out. The underground parking for us was very safe & helpful. They had in the parking garage a suitcase rack-we just loaded it up & wheeled it right up to room. We had a spotless kitchen with dishes, sliverware, pots & pans, coffee pot (they provide the first pot of coffee) We are smokers, and just went on the balcony, not a problem at all. Over all we would definately go back. I would love to see it in the winter. My rating is an A

Best summer vacation spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/07
We just returned from a week at the Village at Squaw Valley and it was one of our best vacations ever. I had my concerns as some of the previous reviewers wrote that the area was suffering a heat wave last year and this facility has no air conditioning, but such was not the case with our trip. Lows in the 40's and highs in the low 70's (our trip was July 17, 2007-July 24). Awesome hiking, climbing, and rafting the Truckee River, and day trips to gawk at the beautiful scenery. Our day trip to Silver City was neat, but should have stayed put at the village as little could top the immediate area around Squaw. Our room overlooked the village via a nice sized patio near the boxcar sized gondola which takes you up 2000 vertical feet (the village is at 6200 feet) to beautiful alpine hikes, a mountain top pool, great restaurant and huge ice rink. Great hikes originating from the village to various lakes, streams, waterfalls, alpine meadows, enchanting forests, etc. The other guests and staff at the village were charming. The village had everything we needed, from a starbucks, sports bar, irish pub, a gourmet restaurant (plump jacks), ben and jerry's, sushi bar, smoothie bar, grocery store, spa/salon, numerous sports and clothes shops, etc. Everything was very reasonable, much less in cost than I expected. Free wifi was easily available throughout the village and in your room. We had rented an SUV, but in retrospect we could have done fine without it, as everything we needed was right there. At night it was cool and everything quieted down by 9:00 pm on most weekdays and 11:00 pm on fri-saturday. The trip was tops in my book and a great value; we will absolutely do it again.

Can't wait to go back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/07
My boyfriend and I stayed here June 22nd, 2007 thru June 27th. This place was by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen! The view is awesome, the rooms were clean and the village is just wonderful. We tried to get our stay extended but it was to much to change airfare. Everyone on site were very polite. We were there during the wildfire so that was the only down fall, but it did not effect our stay. The hiking is out of this world. I can not say enough about this place. The only down fall to the whole place is that you need to pay to ride the cable car every time you want to use the pool, but trust me when I say don't let that stop you from staying there! Awesome! Would go back tomorrow if we could.
