Camelot By The Sea, Myrtle Beach

I've stayed in Myrtle Beach several times, and I look back fondly on my time here. While the hotel may be a little old and need some renovation, it is still a good place to stay. The price is very reasonable, especially in the off-season, and they have lots of different options for rooms. Their pool and lazy river are nice, and you can walk out of the hotel and right down to the ocean. The views are excellent, and you get them from any room. You are in the middle of the shopping an restaurants here, so there's plenty to do.

BEING THAT THE BEDROOMS ARE LOCATED TO THE OUTSIDE ENTRANCE AND PARKING BUILDING WE WERE WAKENED SEVERAL TIMES NIGHTLY. PEOPLE ARE SO RUDE WAITING ON THE ELEVATOR AND THE MAIDS ARE YELLING AT EACH OTHER.PARKING IS DIFFICULT AND SCARY. OUR ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE CARPET APPEARED NEW.

Trust me I needed it after the trip down there, I was about 40-50 miles out when a teenager rear ended me in my rental car…I as kind of upset about it... (LMAO at Kinda) When we first got there trust me, I thought it was going to be a nightmare. The check in process went pretty quick even though some people had not yet booked their rooms (like I did). However, after we got checked in we went to our rooms and put our stuff away then walked back down to the front desk to ask about the packages I had bought on-line. Well needless to say that they did not have my package ready but, the front desk women where awesome at taking care of it and making sure I had the tickets for everything the next day. I finally settled down and started looking at the room when I went back to it a little disgusted. The view was from middle of the hotel and it was still breath taking( ever room is ocean view which was what sold me when I was booking). You had your bedrooms when you first walked in then the kitchen (with pans), then the family room, and then the sliding glass door to the balcony…One of the sweetest views we have ever seen. But, that was the 1st day the night and morning were totally different. Apparently, the people next door had a serious party our 1st night and we woke up to a floor that was soaked from the kitchen to the family room…I wake up at like 4am and noticed it and called the front desk and the in return had to call in the maintenance man. Well finally around 12:30 that afternoon I finally heard from the manager (after calling 2 or 3 times). Well they let us know what happened the people parting next store completely ruined their toilet (don’t ask me how, I didn’t want to know). They asked us where would we like to go and we said UP…The next thing you know we are in one of the penthouses with the biggest breathtaking views you could ever imagine. So they made it right, a lot of hotels I have been to would not have even went that far out of their way!!! Parking Garage is big but small lanes to drive and park in, but hey it was a parking garage right!!!! Beech access awesome!!! Restaurants awesome as well (especially the one right next store, I recommend the grouper fingers), I walked to the pier everyday for fishing it was that close, my wife picked shells from the beach, my grandson LOVED the lazy river and he was only 3 then, and last but not least if you talk to the female bartender tell her I said hi and ask her if she still has the plastic snake I left on the bar for her…lol… After we left there after one week we went to Atlantic beach and if you need info on that as well look me up.

First room had huge stains on carpet and did not look like internet picture at all. second room flooded. Very noisy walls paper thin.Puke in garage and halls from under age drinking allowing high kids in. By far the worst hotel stay of my life!!

The Camelot By The Sea is one of the best hotels to stay in when traveling to Myrtle Beach. The service is wonderful and friendly, the cleanliness is up to par, the location is amazing, and the value is reasonable. My family and I have been staying there for years and have never had a problem. Some of the reviews make me wonder if those guests were even staying in the same hotel. Love it and will return! i requested a third floor room. i even called the evening before i arrived to ensure this. never was i told this would be a problem or that it wasn't guaranteed. when i arrived i was given a ninth floor room and told nothing else was available. also, check-in was 4pm. i arrived at 5:30pm and my room was not ready. my husband and i and three children (7, 5, and 3) had to wait for our room to be cleaned. the worst thing though was that night after the children were asleep in their room my husband went out to check out the pools, etc. i was in bed and heard a knock at the door at 10pm. there was a man outside my door and when i didn't open it he started to let himself in! I quickly threw the latch so the door wouldn't open any further. he said he was bringing towels (apparently he had the wrong room). anyway, if i had been asleep he would have let himself in with my children sleeping in a room right there by the door. as for the hotel itself, the pool set-up was nice for a family with children, and it was nice having the parking deck attached to the building. the negatives were the room itself was kind of ugly, and there were a lot of steps to go down to get to the beach. on a side note, i had read comments before i made reservations-many were negative-but i thought those people were just being picky. it's pretty hard to disappoint me, but my first day there convinced me not to return:)

I go every year and the camelot i the only place ill stay. I mean they do have there days every hotel does they even charge me for a confater that thay said i took from them but it was the cleaning ladies they was hatefull and i know with out a dought she stole it couse she was very mad when she came in. we was late leaving and i guess she got us back but saying there was a blanket stolen i never took it but thats the only thing that i have happen to me the hotel i love.

The location is great. The parking deck is dangerous. Really, only one car can go up and down at one time. In the room the bed linens were stained and nasty. The carpet was nasty. The curtains were black with holes in them. The indoor/outdoor carpet in the entry ways was barely there anymore and extremely nasty. This place needs a complete overhaul. If they would clean it up it would be a great place to stay.

I come every year in Oct. I think that it is in need of some updating and repairs however, I have never been dissatisfied with my rooms. I can't wait for this Oct so that my old friends and I can relax and enjoy each others company.

The only positive about this hotel was the location and views. The hotel is in a great location to everything MB has to offer. Our sheets had hair and holes. When we reuqested new sheets we were told to change them ourselves but refused so the staff did do it. The shower curtain was no longer white but a shade of yellow. The couch we would not sit on due to the multiple stains. Basically the rooms need a COMPLETE renovation. Overall, this hotel is NOT worth the amount of money you are going to spend.
