Everything was great
By ,
We liked the quit laid back atmosphere, nice well kept beach, not over crowded. The staff is very friendly and ready to meet your every need. We would go there again and have another great relaxing time. PS: The pictures online do not do the resort justice.

Not for everyone, but perfect for me!
By ,
We have traveled throughout the Caribbean and have visited most of the "Hot Spots" but once we stayed at the Reef, we knew there would be no other vacation destination for us. If you want the crowds, the noises, and the waiting, go somewhere else. Here, the beach is usually yours alone, no putting out your towel to reserve your space at 6AM. Snorkel out your front door, read undisturbed for hours on end. Visit Georgetown/7 Mile Beach once during your vacation and it will remind you why you chose the Reef. Important points: Cleanliness, beach space and ocean to yourself, no manufactured tourist/island activities. It is the real deal. The Island vacation you try to find but rarely do.

Think twice about this place
By ,
Do not be fooled by the beautiful photographs and descriptions. THey use the word "resort" loosely. It is nothing more than a Best Western on a beach. The best thing about it is the beach and rooms are clean. Plenty of nice beach loungers. Forget isolated and romantic. Poor service in all areas. No Hello Welcome to the Reef Resort. Nadda. Desk clerks did not provide ANY information about the accomodations or rules regarding towel cards and pool and tennis hours. Don't fall for the happy hour. You are lucky if you get one drink, and watch them. THey will double charge you, or gip you on the number of drinks. They will nickel and dime you on everything. Lose your towel card? 25 bucks on check for each card. Lose your room key? same thing. There are no activites except for tennis (which you had to pay for balls, and the fake grass court was filled with trash) StingRay tour (which is awesome). Swimming? HA! prepare for lots of rocks and corral and metal debris. The water is not a beautiful blue. It is translucent green. Be careful of sharp objects on the beach. It is probably the WORST place I have stayed in the Carribean.

beautiful tranquility
By ,
My husband and I are so glad that we decided to stay at the Reef for our honeymoon. I am still having withdrawls after a week back. We were looking for somewhere beautiful and peaceful, and we got it. We went around to some of the resorts on 7 mile, and it only reassured us that we picked the best place. The beach was beautiful and I never saw more than 3 people on the beach at one time. We felt like we had paradise all to ourselves. It seemed to be the perfect location to watch the sunrise. The concierges were very helpful. They seemed eager to help, and I felt that I was getting great unbiased opinions about different spas, parasailing, restaurants, diving, etc. I liked how the rooms were decorated, and it all seemed very clean. We even seemed to get a better breeze than we were getting at the resorts on 7 mile which is important when you are spending most of your day in the sun. I loved the drive between Georgetown and the Reef. There wasn't much traffic at all, no one seemed to have a problem with going 20 over the speed limit, and its an awesome view the entire way, because it just follows the coast line. I actually looked forward to that nice drive during sunset after a full day sightseeing. This kind of tranquility isn't for everyone, but if you are looking for a truly relaxing vacation away from the chaos of a touristy area, then the Reef is the place to go. I can't seem to say enough good things about the Reef. We will definitely be returning!

I love the Reef Resort
By ,
I liked the resort because the staff was very kind. The snorkling it great and it's right off the beach...the beach is clean and so are the pools. It's a great location because it's away from the all the tourist areas and just less crowded.

This is a must if you want to have the perfect vacation
By ,
I have to tell you that I stayed here a few years back and just fell in love with the location, staff, and room itself... although you will want to spend every waking moment outside getting kissed by the warm, glowing sun as the tranquil tradewinds comfortibly cool you on the most beautiful of days. Trust me when I say that this is a vacation you will remember for life. And this hotel is just the place to make the memories that last!
