Mainsail Suites Hotel and Conf Center, Tampa

Our room was dirty when we arrived. They were very stingy with their towels. We had to call 3 times before they did anyting about the people above us, who were jumping and running down the hallway from 7-11 when they finally went and said something to them it was 11pm!. I asked them to clean our room and the only thing they did was change our sheets. The Master suite is on the outside wall and is paper thin, so you could hear everyone who passed the doorway. I would never stay there again, or recommend anyone to stay there.

The space of the suite was very nice. We only stayed one night, but I could see liking it better if you were staying for longer. It was out of date and not very clean. Plus if you want to use the free internet you have to get a cord from the front desk, which they didn't tell you when you checked in. But they did deliver it to our room. Overal, this place was just average, not the greatest, but okay.

We are a family of four with two kids under the age of five, and are extremelty disappointed with our five night stay at Mainsail. I booked online, and when we checked in they had no record of our confirmation number. I requested to be as close as possible to the pool. I belive that we were as far away as possible, and on the thrid floor with no elevator. After lugging luggage and two small kids up the stairs, the air conditioner was permanently set on 72 degrees to "save on energy." We each were given one towel, and after two nights of no maid service, had to call the front desk. There also were dead bugs throughout the rooms, which badly needed upgrading. The pool was obviously made for adults, as my five year old could not stand on the bottom stair without water going over his head. Service at the restuarant was poor. I couldn't believe this was rated a three star hotel. I would not recommend it to any families.

i like the area/ when they told me both rooms had its own bathroom inside the room but when i arrive the a bedroom was across from the bedroom, the b bedroor was inside the bedroom i love the patio and the kitchen in on of the rooms which was the a room the phone line was not working for me to send the email for wifi we had to call to get help with that, 1 room was smaller then the other as i was told they were the same size with queen bed in each room i stayed in building 100 suite 105 which i liked the lower level, my only disappointment was i expect both bedrooms to be the same size and bathrooms inside the rooms, and queens bed a bed was bigger then the b/ bedroom// other then that great place to stay i know what to look forward to now and i would be returning in febuary

Best value, this isn't a hotel room, it's a townhouse. The view is beautiful, and just 5 minutes from the airport. The staff is very accommodating, and nice. Can't wait to comeback.

Mainsail Suites is an awesome place! Our first family reunion was held at the Mainsail Suite in 2001 and I recently returned from another short stay and I must say, the place is as intacted as it was in 2001. Highly recommended.....

I just fell in love with this place. It was like leaving home and going somewhere else. I would recommend MainSail to anyone and I already have. To me, this was and is the number one spot for vacationing and relaxation. My family enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly and courteous and professional and that made a great difference.

GREAT rooms with all the necessary equipment and amenities. Excellent property. Very attractive, well maintained and secure. Very convenient to Tampa airport and highways. GREAT value! Only drawback ... no elevators. Stairs only to 2nd and 3rd floor suites. Had to argue to get a first floor suite for a handicapped traveler. But once that problem was behind us everything else was perfect. Would definately stay again but would communicate directly with the hotel regarding special needs.

Nice resort theme but they need to focus on details & cleanliness. We stayed over a three day weekend July '05 -renting the larger two bedroom suite. The maid service went downhill after the first night. It was obvious that the floors were not vacumed, bathrooms were not cleaned just given a towel change and no replacment of complimentary toiletries.The worst part was the extremely poor excuse for pillows - "thin and cheap". A request for additional pillows fell on deaf ears for the first night. Cigarette butts all over the ground by the private room patio. I received an extremely good government employee discount so can't complain about price.

My bf and I just returned from a trip to Tampa and we stayed at the Mainsail mainly because of the reviews on here and various other sites. However we were not happy with our stay and will not return. The price was a bit high for a 2 star hotel. First off the key card to the first room they gave us did not work. They sent someone to fix it and could not and we didn't want to stand outside for another 20 mins so I requested another room. They put us in another room and I was very pleased with the amount of space and it was very clean. The problems we had were that the bed was too small. It was a queen and we thought we were getting a king. The mattress springes kept poking at us and it was very hard to sleep. The shower head was a bit rusty and the water pressure wasn't so great. So if you are planning on not sleeping much, this is the place to go. It was very close to the airport and all we could hear at night were planes taking off and there were lots of police sirens. We felt like we were in a bad area. The only restaurant on site that I ordered dinner from gave us a steak that was medium rare and I had ordered a well done steak. Also my grilled salmon was also raw on the inside. Thank goodness we had a microwave in the room. I guess it is a good hotel for families but for couples it is another story. Also there was an infestation of ants running along the screen patio door, which wasn't very nice. It was an ok place and I didn't want to be moved to another room so I didn't bother with the front desk. I prepaid for both nights so there was no way of backing out of our stay. Overall the kitchen and living room area was nice but we didn't use it much since we went out most of the time and only came back to the hotel to shower and sleep. My pet peeve is uncomfortable beds and bad showers. So that is the main reason we won't stay again. But if you had to stay the internet connection if pretty good if you had your laptop, and the staff is very nice. But I can't see myself not being able to sleep.
