This place is a FRAUD!
By ,
I did not stay at Wind Chimes Inn. However they fraudulently charged my credit card. I did stay at the Inn On The Blue Horizon in Vieques, and they too fraudulently charged my credit card for the exact same amount. These two places must be somehow related. I contacted the hotel and was told they had made a billing mistake and would be reversing the charge. However the charge was never reversed and I have had to contact my credit card company to dispute both charges. This is a shame because I had a pleasant stay at the Inn On the Blue Horizon but the fraudulent charges leave me with a bad taste in my mouth. Probably will not return because of this activity.

too much for too little
By ,
No wireless at all. Has a nice pool - too small and not open early/late enough. parking is limited to a max of 4 compact vehicles. hard to pull in/out of little garage area. Cancellations - they will keep 2-3 additional nights as their policy if you cancel so, make sure you like the place before you commit. Good/reasonably priced restaurants within the area are limited - dind't find one. Beach - too much surf to go into the waters. Overall, found the place to be too pricey for what is offered.

Not recommended at all
By ,
Made reservations for their location closer to the beach. Got there and the hotel wanted to put me elsewhere. The room they wanted to give me the curtain didn’t close. The next room they showed me was like a dungeon and so far in the back, the only view was the building next to it. Finally they gave me a room where I had made my reservation for in the first place. This building is ½ block away. When my wife and I got to the room we discovered that the lights didn’t work properly, there were no towels, soap, glasses, etc. The room had not been serviced. It took a while before we could get all this straightened up. The entire stay was not what they seem to advertise on line. We were so disappointed that we left 2 days early. The manager stated that he would reimburse me for one of the days we did not stay. After getting home, I come to find out that he did not reimburse me and does not intend to. So much for his word. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Already planning my next trip
By ,
This was my first trip to PR. This Inn is located just off the beaten path, but only one block from the beach and only a short walk to local restaurants, convenience stores, and the bus-stop. The Inn is absolutely adorable. The rooms are quaint and colorful and reminiscent of the old PR culture, they have all the amenities one would need, and they are clean. The courtyard was FULL of beautiful plants and flowers, as were the hallways and common areas. I was traveling alone, so I did not venture far from the Inn at night. William was my personal bartender (or so it seemed). He was courteous, pleasant and a fountain of information about the island and it's culture. He's a fantastic cook and makes the BEST pina-colada I have ever had!! My nights would have been boring without him. Jeannie at the front desk was my personal travel advisor. She was well informed of all the activities going on. She quickly made reservations for my rainforest tour, recommended a wonderful restaurant (Raices), and provided me with maps and suggestions. Between the two of them, I was made to truly feel like a guest, and not just a customer. Without them my trip would not have been as much fun. I will DEFINITELY stay at the Wind Chimes Inn again!! Thank you William and Jeannie!

Wonderful time
By ,
Well what can I say. We had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful. There recommendaton on resturants, tours and how to get around were great which were provide by Ginny and other staff members. It was nice having things near by like the beach and a couple of great resturant. Also, to get to Old San Juan is a breeze on there local bus. It was worth the time, money and would recommend it to all my family and friends. We are planning another trip next year and this is the place we are retuning to.

looking for a bargain? Look elsewhere
By ,
Barely adequate facility offset by friendly helpful staff - stay could have been unpleasant but you make the best of things and have fun anyway altho I would not reccommend going here. Everything is VERY claustrophobic, they wouldn't honor the rate quoted me and charged $75 more because they hadn't sent me an email confirmation. (like I was supposed to know I needed it to be in an email?) Cats fighting under my window on the first night sounded like somebody torturing a kid. Air conditioner had no temp setting, so it was either on or off. Overhead fan had 5 speeds, starting at paper blowing speed and getting faster. Inhouse Boat Bar restaurant has terrrible food. Only people using it were newcomers who would only go once. Our Gyro didn't use fresh ingredients, greasy meat, stale pita bread and definately not prepared as advertised in the menu. unit kitchenette very bad. freezer didn't work, no micro, no toaster, only elec stove. utensils, pots, pans, etc all in a box under the sink. Bathroom so small I had to sit sideways on the crapper or fit knees under the sink. Sink has a shelf only twelve inches above it so whatever you do be it brush teeth, rinse face, etc becomes dificult and mirror is on wall behind toilet so shaving involves a lot of turning around to see whats going on. Lots of steps with very narrow passage ways. pool is pretty in foto but I've seen bigger bathtubs and it only holds three people in the entire pool area. location not bad. not good, but not bad. No windows to speak of as they are louvered and topped by plants so neighbors can't see in. You don't want them open anyway as noise is a factor. I talked to some neighbors and their unit was literally a cave being under the pool overlook deck and they had only one small window that couldn't be used, their stove burners didn't all work and when you opened their door it was dark and illumination was too feeble to make it in any way comfortable. No Internet serivce or WiFi and closest place is not in walking distance. Bottom Line is pay the extra $30-$40 a night and go somewhere else where you can feel like a human being and have an enjoyable stay.

Very nice for the price
By ,
Clean rooms, nice staff, very nice bar tenders, close to shopping. beach is a block away so easy to get to. Sister hotel is 1/2 block away with a "hot" tub. having towel's available for the beach was very nice. We toured old san juan 1 day then went to the rain forest the next & swam in "la mina" falls...little chilly but very fun. Luquilla beach day 3 and then out to isla viequez for an over night. Very nice beaches on viequez but need a 4WD. Ferry ride was wavey but we made. about 1 hr ferry ride and it was late taking off. Back to Luquilla beach on day 6 and then home.

Wonderful service!
By ,
First off, one should keep in mind this is classified as a "boutique hotel" so if you're looking to spend alot of time in your hotel room, you're better off shelling out for the Marriott. There is also very limited parking space. On to the good things; the staff was very courteous, and the man at the front desk in particular was one of the most helpful people I have ever met. He helped us with everything, from where to eat to setting up a guided tour of the rain forest. We were upgraded 3 times before we even arrived to a room with a balcony and king sized bed. It was very cozy, comfortable, and being literally 100 ft from the beach was great. A warning though, the waves at this area of the beach get pretty rough at times. There are numerous cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and Old San Juan is only a .75 cent, 20 minute bus ride away. All in all, our stay was a wonderful experience and I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

Enjoyed our visit very much
By ,
My husband and I reserved a room for 3 nights before departing on our cruise with At Wind Chimes Inn. We enjoyed the Inn very much. We felt safe in the area, room was excellent and the food at the bar was delicious. you could not ask for a better breakfast. The staff was excellent with suggestions for other local restaurants. The staff also assisted with tour arrangements. We would highly recommend At Wind Chimes Inn.

Reasonable Price, Good Location
By ,
Some advice. Avoid the older, shabby rooms above the bar, to the back of Wind Chimes and ask for a room on the front side; these latter have a cleaner, more attractive feel and avoid the sounds of the bar at night. Be sure to require several windows and ask that you be able to open them for fresh air! Staff was friendly and helpful. Acacia, also owned by Wind Chimes, has a Juccuzi you can use. Avoid the musty smelling dark Acacia but use the Jacuzzi. Tips: This is a good launch point to take the A5 bus to and from Old San Juan ($.75, do not waste your dollars on taxis). Eat at Bebos just a few blocks from Wind Chimes.
