Looks can be deceiving

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago. At first, everything seemed great. An older gentleman took us on a golf cart ride to check out the rooms. The manager, who I think was the owner had a very business-like attitude and was not very friendly. We rented a boat and had to pay for a full 4 hours even though we only wanted it for about an hour. The fishing pole that we bought in the camp store literally fell apart after about 10 minutes. Our room actually looked very nice. It was recently remodeled and had a log cabin look. Even the furniture was made out of logs. Then things only got worse. In the evening, the heater wouldn't work. Thank God we brought extra blankets with us. We cooked popcorn in the microwave and doing that blew a fuse. All the lights went out. We notified the office and were scolded by a woman. She stated that we were not supposed to be cooking in our room. We reminded her that we were using the popcorn that we had bought in their store and the microwave that they had put in out room! Then, a man called us back and said the same thing, that "the rooms aren't meant for cooking in". We replied to him just as we had to her. The walls are paper thin. It seems as if there is no insulation at all and we could hear the people next to us all night, and it really wasn't anything we wanted to be hearing. In the morning, we both took showers and the water temperature never stabilized the entire time. It quickly turned to scalding hot and stayed very hot many times. Thank God we didn't have children with us that could have gotten burned in that hot water. We didn't say anything at checkout time, we just handed the man the key and left, but only because he had my credit card number. We will not stay here again.
