Surfside Resort, Destin

Surfside is great for the location, right across the street from beach with easy access and Whales Tale within walking. Felt very safe letting my teenagers go back and forth. And good for older adults also. It is not for young kids because they will not let a baby or toddler in the pool with or without a swim diaper. The pool is old and recycles its water. They definately do not tell you this. But we asked neighboring Condo Aerial Dunes if we could have a wristband for the day and they said absolutely. Not that much farther to walk and more updated. We may look there next time. We stayed in 711 and liked the layout, lots of room, just not updated like some of the others. Kinda pricy for not a strait on view. Our biggest complaint is with the Management company Panama Beach Rentals, who we booked through. It's the same as the front desk . When we called to book, someone quoted us a less amount than previously discussed. We thought it was because it was four days before arrival. Great, on Sale. They said we had to pay in full that day and we got a confirmation. We called the front desk with questions the next day and they said there was a mistake and we were booked in a one bedroom instead of the three for 9 people. She said she would take care of everything and switched us and told us it was all taken care of. When we arrived to check in after 9 hours, the front desk said we owed an additional $1200. They were not going to check us in until a payment had been made. They were very rude and did not care that it was their mistake. We got them to agree at that time to a lesser amount until we could speak to someone in mgt. office the next day. Our issue is that it was their mistake, any other business would just have to deal with it. Especially the Hospitality Industry. Even after they found and corrected their mistake, they still had four days to call us back and tell us they couldn't give us a three bedroom for the price we paid. But that is what they sold us. You don't surprise someone at the front desk checking in that we were not going to get that condo for that price. They never called. We ended up settling and paying more money because we were already there. While we waited two other customers came up and their charges were not what they were supposed to be. There is a breakdown in their communication, service, procedures. I would not stay here again. Check out Aerial Dunes good view literally at the back of our parking lot with family friendly pools and modern interiors.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Surfside and just love it. The beach is awesome, the condo is classy and clean. Our friends have gone with us and feel the same way. Its a very relaxing place to stay and the ocean is right across the street. There are a lot of good restaurants to go to and we have not been disappointed yet.

Family Memories to remember for a lifetime. We loved everything about surfside resort. The location was perfect - close to all the activities we enjoy, resturants and of course shopping. The best part was the view of the Gulf looking over the emarld waters and snow like sand - was so wonderful to wake up to every morning we were there. We will be telling our friends. The service was also very pleasing, everyone from the front desk clerk to the bar tender located by the pool. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Thanks for taking pride in making it enjoyable for us and the many to come.

My family and friends have stayed here for the past 5 years every summer, so I think I know my way around this place pretty good. I love the location of these condos. They are right across the street from the sand and the Gulf. These are individually owned condos so it is a good idea to get the person you are renting from to thouroughly explain the particular condo you will be staying in. (# it sleeps, bathrooms, pullout couches, etc.) The pool is very small with only a 19 persons capacity. There are 2 hottubs, which is nice. There is a sauna, sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't. There is also live music on the pool deck every Thursday night. Another way to access the beach is the skybridge on the pooldeck. The gate to go down the enormous flight of stairs to the beach is only accessible with you room key. It is the same for the gate on the street to the beach. This is a good safety feature along with the security guards they have. There is usually plenty of parking in their parking deck. One of the only complaints I have is about the elevators. There are many rooms but only two elevators and THEY ARE SOOOO SLOW. I use the maintenance elevator sometimes. It much faster and they can only scold you if you get caught. I do think that these condos are a bit overpriced. But, so is everything else in Destin. Get ready to shell out some cash!

We just got back from vacation and stayed at Surfside for a week. We had a great room. It was very nice and clean. Decor was really nice. Very good location. Even though it was across from the beach, it seemed like you were right on the beach with the walkover. If you stay up high, you can't see the street, only ocean. Will for sure stay there again. Already making plans to take Grandkids for a beach trip and will stay at Surfside. Highly recommend.

WOW! What bad thing can I say about this condo? Hmmm... nothing. Absolutely nothing! I've been going here my whole life and will continue to go, it's a truly magical place. It has many, many resteraunts some of my personal favorites are Whale's Tale and Fudpuckers. A great waterpark is Big Khahunas. Surfside Resort features many great thing including, 1 kiddy pool, 1 nice big regular pool, and 2 hot tubs. It has an excellent walkway across the beach and then the beach is just the best!I truly recomend this place to anyone whos looking for a fun, relaxing vacation!

I have been going to Surfside for sixteen years now but my my parents have been going way since i was born. A family friend owns one of the rooms in the condo, so ive only stayed in one of the rooms, but have looked in alot of the rooms and they are all clean nice with a beautiful veiw of the ocean. The condo has a nice pool to big hot tubs a walkway across the street to the beach.There are lots of wonderful restrauntes to enjoy I have probabaly been to every single on in Destin, my personal favorite is Fudpuckers! and i well be back in July 06'

We stayed at the Surfside in August of '04 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's clean, easy to get to, the rooms are wonderful and each of them have a balcony with a view of the ocean. The ocean is just a few steps away, too. We're planning a trip back in July of '05.
