Description

This is one of the most eclectic hotel in all of Jerusalem and a definite recommendation for travelers on a budget. The rooms are clean and come with a private bathroom and table fan. The lobby houses a collection of historical prints of Jerusalem as well as artwork from around the globe. The dark and dusty lobby contrasts to the modern Internet cafe bringing old-world splendor and our tech-driven future together. Relax at the small bar and coffee shop with light snacks and food.

Would Do it Again
By JSB, 4/8/08
We stayed here twice on a recent trip through Israel. Abu Wahid, the man who runs the place, is a class act through and through. He's also fluent in 5-6 languages, which sure helps in a place where travelers come from far and wide. Value for rooms isn't what a lot of Westerns will expect, but Israel is expensive, and for a prime location in the Old City, it's not bad. Free internet was a nice bonus as well. Ear plugs are a good item to pack... not just for this hotel, but for the Old City, in general.

nice and safe place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/08
We arrived late at night because our booked hostel (New Swedish Hostel) sold our room. Half an hour later we had a nice and clean room with a private bathroom. All stuff was very kind and helpful. A good breakfast is included as well as the internet access. We highly recomment this place.

Sub-standard rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/2/07
The rooms are certainly NOT good value for money - small, dark and without any nice touches, the bathrooms are a joke. It's very noisy in the side lane at night with disco music coming from a little cafe just below the hotel. The web-site looks cool, but reality is different... The family who owns the hotel is friendly and chatty, but unfortunately their attitude to service and attention lets something to be desired. While the location in the old city is great, the other factors can spoil your stay.

An interesting perspective
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/05
We really didn't know where to stay in Jerusalem and booked from Australia. The hotel is chic shabby but very interesting. The staff are extremely hospitable and willing to share their knowledge of Jerusalem and surrounds. We had an influx of aid workers coming from the West Bank and talking to them was a highlight of our trip. For exploring the old city the position was superb..Could be cold in winter! Worth a few days stay.
