Lowes Motor Inn, Point Pleasant

Thank you to the folks at the Lowes Hotel... We enjoyed ourselves. I grew up in Meigs County and had been to Pt. Pleasant many times and did not relize the beauty of Pt.Pleasant and your hotel was breath taking. Thank you for your hospitality and we will be back to see you next year and possible bring some new comers with us.

My daughter and I stumbled on to this hotel purely by accident. I was taken totally by surprise when I registered and got an actual key and not a magnetic key card for our room. I love antique things and I must say I was definitely amazed and impressed with the preservation and atmosphere of the Lowe. I felt as though I had stepped back in time to the 30's. The owner had the lobby decorated for Christmas and it was absolutely beautiful. There were alcoves on each floor for sitting, our room was incredible and the original carpet is still in the hallways. I instantly fell in love with the place, it has some modern amenities (internet connection which worked well), microwave, TV and of course indoor plumbing(bring your own hair dryer). I think my favorite thing was the stained glass windows and magnificent lobby fireplace. The Lowe is well located and there are many interesting sites to see within easy walking distance . My daughter and I really enjoyed taking snap shots in the Moth man cut out at the coffee shop across the way. Of course the Moth Man statue is also in that vicinity. The murals on the river wall were absolutely outstanding and lifelike. If you are not just rushing through Pt Pleasant on your way to somewhere else and you are looking for a memorable experience and a bit of modern day time travel; stop in and spend the night at the Lowe. You won't be disappointed. Also for some great home style food wander down to Emma's (about 2-3 blocks down on the same side of the street as the Lowe) the service and food were outstanding! I am planning a trip back up there for the Moth Man festival next September (sounds like lots of fun). Maybe I will see you there. Joyce from Texas

THE PEOPLE WERE NICE THE ROOMS WERE NICE IT IS ALSO A HOTEL WHERE IF YOU WANNA SCARE YOU WILL GET IT THAT IS WHAT I LIKE . IT IS OLD AND BUEATIFUL

This was a great place. I stayed in room 311. They have a microwave and refrigerator. The people who worked there were really nice. Down the street there is a little cafe called Emma's, it is very good. I would most deffinaltly go stay at this place again.

We stayed in 310 on a saturday night and it was an absolute delite. It is as much of history as the Mothman. Everything including restaurants and museums were within walking distance. The owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and yes it didn't have alot of modern commodities but it was well worth the price for a night. We are going back within a week and are planning on staying there again for sure.

I fell in love with the family that runs it. They were so sweet and didnt mind sitting down with us and telling us stories about the place. You can feel the history when you walk in the door. It was very clean and just gave us a warm welcomed feeling. I would highly recommend it to history lovers who think stepping back in time is a good thing. We loved it!!

My wife and I stopped by lowe motor inn passing through and we loved it. It gives you a very spooky feeling which was awesome. We stayed in the hot tub suite 206 and we cant wait to go back. as for the people who talk negative about the place they dont understand history. If there was new things like hair dryer and air in the bathroom I would not have enjoyed it. To them I say stay in the windsors and leave these hotels to people who understand and respect the history.

i took my boyfriend to the lowe hotel w/ some friends .we stayed in a suite. we had a great time .we thought the hotel was a good get away for the location , price and history. it is old and you have to consider that. the hotel could use a little work. but for a place with history and a little ghostly & mothman history you couldn't ask for better. the bar downstairs is a plus.we wil definetly go back for another romantic , drunken quick get away.

It is a nice enough hotel if you want to step back in time. But I have been to historic hotels and they do have several convinces that this place does not offer. Such as a hair dryer, air in the bathroom, ice machine, free coffee in the morning with donuts and juice. Their T.V. only had 13 local stations. The wash cloths were dirty looking. It's a mom and pop hotel and there is no up grade to it. There are wires running all over the place in the rooms. We did not even have cold water in the bathroom. The bathroom is so small you can hardly move. And the air condition is a window unit that does not get anywhere in the bathroom unless you leave the door open and then there is no privacy if someone is with you. I was really disappointed in the place. The old furniture was great and the place was pretty and they owner very friendly though. If you go. Bring everything with you. And you have to walk up the steps with what ever you bring until you get to the OLD elevator that is. No bag boys to help with the luggage. No pool or internet connection here, no spa or anything like it.

I travel allthe time for work, I've been to Point Pleasant many times and always wanted to stay here. I was in no way disappointed. Some people fuss about the water pressure or other problems you would find in a building that's over a hundred years old. It's GREAT, you get a skeleton key for the room! I loved it and will stay there any time I'm in the area.
