Club Meza del Mar, Puerto Vallarta

The resort has become a gay resort with about half of the travelers being gay. Out of 3 elevators only one works all the time, lots of stairs for exercise. Has a funky smell, probably mold and dirt. Not at all what it used to be.

My husband and I had been going to Meza Del Mar for 13 yrs. and my heart is sad to think we cannot go back again because the hotel has been taken over by the 'blue chairs' And the gay men who bullied their way around on the beach by taking over the palapas even when we had been there before them. One man danced sickening offensively on the stage..with children in the audience. I will miss all the help there. Peggy Malone

I am going with my son's on Monday the 12th. This is my 4th visit. I like the rusticness of it. Its not frilly. The food is great. It did have some things that needed work. Cracks in the pool, The pool bar gone (bad choice) curtains in the room hanging off crooked, cracks in the walls of the rooms. Old bedspreads, etc. But all in all I love it. The people are very nice. For the dollar you can't go wrong. I love the Papaguago hut for drinks and snacks. I like the fact that you get a discount every time you go back. For my sons and I for 6 days with a two bedroom suite it was 950.00. Not bad. See you guys Monday......

I have used this hotel 3 times in the past and for your money it is well worth it. Twice it was an all inclusive including air, but some years ago they dropped the air package. On our next trip there we scheduled our own and it was still the best place to go. They have a very good rate policy that they go by, likepay 1 night, get 1 free, etc. Yes it is one of the older hotels there but it is close to old town to walk to and cab fares are very reasonable to most other attractions
