Very Mexican style. I loved it!!
By ,
This place is what I was looking for. People very kind and nice. It is a Mexican hotel and that is what I was looking for. Very clean a little older. But the ocean view you can't beat it.

It was ok I guess......
By ,
Very loud street noise at all hours of the night. McDonalds right across the street, where a bunch of teenagers hangout. If it rains, the road next to the hotel turns into a river, you cant cross without getting soaked. As far as the staff goes, the service is ok, though they are really not very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is ok. There are much better restaurants near by with much better food and cheaper. My room was clean and everything worked, but it was old and run down. The exchange service they offer has a lower rate than anywhere else in the city, definitely exchange your money somewhere else. Singles be advised that they watch you if you bring someone into the hotel. So if you meet someone or hookup you cant have them in your room, even though single and double rates are the same, and this isnt an all-inclusive resort. I wonder if the same rules apply to Mexican guests as gringos(doubtful), as this hotel seems to cater to the Mexican tourists more than foreigners. Lastly I was confronted by a security guard around 2:30am after bar hopping and told that it was too late for me to be out. I think I will opt for a hotel rather than a boarding school next time(since I am a grown man). Overall I got a bad vibe and alot of attitude from the staff. I definitely wont be back to this hotel. Just say no you can do alot better, even for the money.

Very good location downtown. However, the street side rooms are very noisy from about 10:00pm to about 5:00am. Our room had NO A/C!Please beware. This might be a good hotel for college students.

Can't Wait to go back!
By ,
We never went before until this year with my family. It was really nice especially because it has the beach right next to it.The best thing was the food! it was soo good we didnt even eat outside. It is so close to the best parts in puerto vallarta. The rooms were comfortable and neat.

Great Location, Awful Service
By ,
I chose Hotel Rosita for the location, but also because it was advertised as a 3 stars. This Hotel DOES NOT deserve more than 1 1/2 star at max. I arrived a 4:00 pm, the room was not ready, I left my luggage in the room, and after waiting for well over 1 hour I went to the room, the door was unlock with all my belonging in it. I requested facial wash towels, I had to ask 3 times and finally at 10:00pm I call reception and they brought the washing cloth. The reception staff is more interested in what each other did the night before with their boyfriend, than attending the client. One can not ask a simple question THEY do not know the answer, not even where to buy stamps to mail a post card. There is not beach, and the pool is very little. In a word, I will not recommend to any one, and definitively I will never stay there again. I do not know whom give them 3 stars.

You get your money's worth!

The location is the seller here. You are literally in the centre of it all. The beach is no good for swimming. The hotel has a pool if you want to get wet. The food and drinks were fine, nothing to complain about. We had an ocean view room and just loved the louvered doors. We spent much of our down time on the balcony enjoying a drink and watching the sunset. However, the week we spent at this hotel was their "March break" and the hotel had a lot of partying students on had, which made for lots of noise into the wee hours. Loads of restaurants to eat at and loads of shops close by. We never used a taxi but walked everywhere because there is so much to take in. Use the city bus and venture outside of town. This hotel is certainy not the Ritz but was quite pleasant and we would certainly go back again.

Filthy

This place was noisy, dirty and bugridden. The rooms are run-down with broken moldy tiles. The air conditioning barely runs and the beds are hard as rocks. The pool is old and beach is sperated by old chain link. It is a nice location if you want to go to all the major bars downtown, but if you want to enjoy your accomodations don't stay here.

Won't return
By ,
We were very disappointed here. Had requested a room with either a balcony or a view...and got one of the city/street side rooms, that was noisy 24/7.The balcony was too small for rooms only chair.Front door had obviously been kicked in, but offered a portal view of ocean from 3rd story up. Elevator was out of order when we arrived, and broke down frequently.A funky rigged up electrical main in room had been tampered with to run... Checked in after 4pm...no towels,no hot water (ever!),floor had sand/grit, sheets had questionable stains, small rips. Staff, for the most part-3 of 4, were not interested in helping or resolving any issues. We have stayed in many many Mexican hotels,up and down Baja and the mainland and this was one of the biggest disappointments. Found another hotel in Old Town, that was atleast swept before they mopped the floor. This place could be a real firetrap, as most the smoke alarms we observed in our 2 days of hell here had no batteries or were broken. Getting it in writing won't be of much help, if you book by internet...demand an inside room. The bar and restaurant were fair, with good service, great drinks, and tasty well prepared food.

Don't expect to sleep...
By ,
Rooms that face the city streets are roaring with noise 24 hours. Continuous streams of buses, taxis, and locals cruising with radio blasting, plus church bells clanging day and night will make your vacation the most stressful, guaranteed! Staying in this hotel was torture. Don't stay there unless you are guaranteed an ocean side room. You will need to be paid for enduring such agony.

Simple and Inexpensive
By ,
Best value. This is the Motel 6 of Puerto Vallarta. Clean and simple accommodations. However, the money you save on this hotel can be used to spend in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Hotel Rosita is located right on the Melacon. I walked out of the lobby onto the Melacon. The flea market was up the street but the jewelery stores, bars, restaurants, and beach were all within walking distance. A bus ride and you could be at the river marketplace. Instead of spending money on taxis and accommodations, I bought two beautiful silver pendants, with matching rings, and had a great shrimp dinner and drinks at a very cool restaurant. If you want to be in the middle of it all, this is the place to stay.
