Will not stay there again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/09
I did not like the fact that our room was not refreshed at all - no vacuuming, beds, towels, etc. We were toldthat we had to take our own towles to the front desk and exchange them everyday. We alos had to take out our garbage. I might as well have stayed home. We were told that if the room was not clean then we would be charged. We are not messy and do not mind cleaning but when I go on vacation I like to be catered to a little bit - at least exchagne my towels... The front desk was not helpful at all.

Will NEVER stay here again!
By Russell, 06/15/09
My wife's niece convinced us to take her on a graduation beach trip where she could see clear water. I recommended Florida where she had never been. Her father has a time share and traded for this location. We were told by the time share company this was the ONLY place to stay THAT week we wanted to go. Funny thing is we gave them 3 locations and 3 weeks. I guess those who have ever been and don't know better get stuck here. His only two musts were that it hold 4 people and it be on the beach!! He was told ABSOLUTELY it was ocean front and he was getting a 2 bedroom unit. When he received our confirmation info a week before we left it said an efficiency for 2 but he did not think anything of it. We drive 16 hours and arrive at a dump. We were told that sure enough the ONLY room available for the week was the efficiency and that it was recommended for 2 people certainly not 4. We called the time share company who 'claimed' they searched all the others resorts in a 300 mile radius and there was nothing available, and our option was now to drive home or stay. I asked the receptionist, who had an attitude, if we could even pay and upgarde to a larger room. I was told they had nothing available and was completely booked. We decided to make the best of it. Also, beside the dump of a room, as I'm not sure why they are called a resort and not a motel, the resort is across a 4 lane major highway from the beach and you only have a gate with a code to access the beach!! You can not even see the water from ANY room in the hotel! The room 4 doors down was a 2 bedroom and was left open all week long. The blinds were left open and no one checked into that room. Needless to say we spent our week at the state park beach where we could at least have restrooms and showers available to us. She did enjoy the beach and the clear water. Some of our complaints: - We had to make our own bed (no room service)! - Walk our towels down and exchange them ourselves at a set time(if your out of your room no clean towels!) - The pool is inside so you can't even lay by the pool and get sun! - NOT ocean front as they advertise! - They claim to have tennis courts and they do not! - You have to cross a VERY busy 4 lane highway in order to get to the beach and you only have a gate, and a long walk down a path to access the beach! - Would not upgarde us even though they had space, the front sign said vacancy, and we even asked to pay to upgrade to ANY available room other than the efficiency. (The time share was locked was their claim!) - Not even street front as it sits behind an old diner that is out of business...makes the view even better! - They do not remove the trash from your room. You have to set it out front of your room so everyone's trash sits in front of their doors in the heat and begins to smell! - Wife's niece stepped over a mouse on the stairs one evening coming back upstairs to the room. If you ever decide to go to Destin, PLEASE save your money and headaches, and do not stay in this HORRIBLE DUMP!

Stayed and loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/09
I stayed here for my honeymoon and loved it. It is located in the middle of most things and not to far from others such as shopping and seconds from the beach. The only thing that really bothered me was how the rooms are set up. We literally got lost looking for the room and on the way back looking for the car. Once you figure out where to park and which ways to go it is great. It was very affordable, the rooms were nice, we had a full kitchen and dining room and two very clean bathrooms. I would strongly recommend this to others but I do suggest getting a room on the bottom floor because you may have to do some walking.

Last minute Trip
By Kerri, 08/14/08
My husband and I with our two sons age 8 and 14 took a last minute vacation to Club Destin. For the money I was impressed. We had an efficiency it was very clean and stocked well with towels and dishes etc. it had one queen bed and a sleeper sofa for the boys, which they rarely slept anyways. It had an indoor which was good cuz it rained off and on plus it was very clean. Everyday we spent there the employees were very friendly and helpful and were always cleaning the windows, door hallways etc. I wish they would build an outdoor pool for us sun seekers. There were a few fast food places in walking distances and some surf shops also. We rarely moved our SUV. The beach is across a busy street but it has walking lights for you to stop traffic to cross. Our experience was good and we are planning a trip there next summer. Thanks!

More like an extended stay "motel" - not a resort!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/08
For our 29th wedding anniversary stay, we were quite disappointed. Our room faced a wall and water ran from our air condition onto the walk-way. Front desk unconcerned when we complained. Told us we could complain to the referring company. The worse was the noise from the street as construction was going on; the entire room vibrated. The beach was across the street, but waaay across the street! We would not return here if it was the last "motel" standing. :- ( Additionally, we did not understand the "housekeeping fee" for a housekeeper who came after we left.

Good value for 3 years!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
My wife and I have stayed here for two years and are going back for a third. It is a former "Holidome-type" hotel converted to a resort-stay facility. We have had no problems with any aspect of our stay. It is not overly convenient to take the walk across the road and down the private walkway to the beach, but since we have no children with us - it is not a signficant issue. It is economical but not spartan. The service is fine. Some pre-school children in the hot tub mostly in the evenings - wished they had a "child-free" time but not a loud place even at that. We go the week after the Fall season starts - so it is quieter. Rather laid-back atmosphere. Not a party hotel. Recommended.

Never again !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/07
This place was awful. For $10.00 more I could have stayed in the beatiful Sandestin golf and beach resort. Where should I start: The pillow cases smelt like sweat, The sofa sleeper was very hard. The bath tub was full of hair. There were spider webs in the conner of the room. When my husband was bathing the shower head almost fell off. I was chrged $100.00 over. Acess to the beach, wow you have to cross the main road and I had two children so I was not going to cross that road so we had to go to a public beach which was really nice. When I asked for an ice machine they told me they didn't have one but, would sell me some. It was a very bad experiance for my family.

didn't want to leave, stayed 1 more nite!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
The staff was really friendly. The photos on their website are actually what the place looks like. Wish it were on the beach but it does have beach access right across the street. Well stocked kitchen, decent size room for our small family of 3. Loved the pool and the fact that it was very family oriented. Was only able to hear through walls at nite and while in bathroom(which is great for other guests who had to listen to our 2yr old). The indoor pool atrium was a bit chilly for our little one but was fine for us. They even have planned activities for the kids although our daughter was a bit too young to participate. All in all a great place to stay. We are planning a 2nd vacation in august so we can go back again because we liked it there so much.

Good value for your money
By A Yahoo! User, 09/16/06
I stayed at the Club Destin Resort, for a week, and I am quiet pleased with the place. The resort is basically a converted hotel, and has kitchenettes inside, a queen sized bed and a hide a couch, in the unit I stayed in. While it was hot outside, the room was quiet comfortable. The use of the indoor swimming pool/hot tub was nice. The laundry facility uses $1.25 for wash or dryer, and four units of each. The Hospitality Room houses a large screen television with stereo speakers set up on the wall. The location is perfect, easy access of either Airport Road or US 98. Subway and a pizza shop rest across the road. Souvenier shops are within walking distance. They have activities planned throught the day, and they had a potluck one night for all the guests. If you not looking for a fancy place, this is it. I am planning on returning the next timeI go to Destin.

We had the best vacation ever!
By Jennifer N, 08/27/05
This resort is conveniently located right in the middle of "the fun part of town". It's clean, the people are very friendly, and there's always something going on for the kids. We loved the in-door pool and jucuzzi. We also liked begin able to play shuffle board and miniature golf with our kids without having to go out if we didn't want to. The kitchenette was very well equipped, which was nice because we were able to make smoothies and enjoy them in our room. Our kids keep begging us to go back.
