Comfort Suites Riverfront Park, New Bern

It was a pleasure staying here. The staff was very nice, helpfull and new the are quite well. Would stay here again on my next trip to the area. Close to the donwtown which is not very big, however, quite nice.

Have stayed here with Reg and his staff many times. Anyone who can't get along with these people have serious personality disorders or are just rude themselves. I have always been treated like family. The staff and location make this a wonderful place to get away. I can't say enough about how much I enjoy my stays here!

One thing to note when you go there is that a bridge is out (if not repaired yet), and a main downtown street torn up. Not the hotel's fault, at all, but you may need local help with directions. Our GPS was trying to direct us somewhere you cannot go! Hotel is pretty well kept up, the breakfast was good. We thought the price was a bit high for a small NC town, or we would have given it higher marks for value. One issue we had, service wise, was that front desk staff, if there is any, does not answer the phone late at night. We tried calling (this was a Friday night, if it matters) for about 30 minutes, from around 2:30-3:00 AM to have a wake up call set, and no one answered.

This is a marvelous hotel.The sunrise across the river is breath taking.The staff is wonderful, always helpful and accomadating.The rooms are clean and large.The breakfast is really good. Cathy is wonderful keeping things full and neat.The social gathering in the evening is great. Newly remodeled a winner all the way around. I will be going back soon.

Property has a nice location, on the water, good view. Reasonably clean. Maybe slightly pricey for a small Southern town, but not outrageous. Might be different on weekends, but for the couple of days we were there, there appeared to be no one at reception late at night. Twice we came in late, after the bar around closed, and there was no one there, nor any answer when we called to try to get a wake up call.

There was everything to like about staying in this hotel and visiting this town! We had our grown children AND grandchildren with us and booked several rooms. The management and staff couldn't have been kinder. Our grown children couldn't get over how many selections were available for breakfast. They had NO desire to go out into the downtown to eat in the morning. The pool was lovely and the kids loved looking out on the water. When the grandchildren got restless, we took them to the nearby park to play. The staff is well informced and the management accessible and accomodating. We will always stay at this hotel. We can attest to the reasons that this hotel has won so many awards. We have traveled all over the world and enjoyed our stay in this hotel as much as many of the 5 star hotels in other countries. There were a couple of families with children who were busy NOT watching their children. The staff was so patient and very tolerant of everybody's needs and worked hard to make sure all of their guests had a great visit. The rooms, incidentally, are lovely. We'll be coming back to New Bern, NC AND the Comfort Suites Riverfront Park!

The staff is extremely rude and quick to tell you that they are too busy to help you. I asked to speak to a manger, thinking he might be able to help me,but he was even worse than the front desk people. The manager,Redge, was the most redneck, backwoods, obnoxious man I have ever had to deal with. He definitely should not be a manager. It was very obvious that he did not care about the customers. I will never stay at this hotel again. Any place in New Bern would be better than this hotel.

We only stay here when in town. The staff are always accomidating, the rooms are always clean and if there is an issue it is taken care of immediately. We will see you soon

My sister and I have stayed at this hotel quite a bit in the last several weeks due to our grandmother being in the hospital. We were given a special rate because of this for which we are greatful because we have stayed a total of seven nights. Last weekend we were upgraded to a riverview room without even asking. The reservationists were most pleasant, especially Sandy. Our rooms have always been clean. The peacefulnees of the river view was extra calming last weekend especially after finding out that our grandmother will probably not recover. Our thanks to all of you for your kindness. We will never stay at the Sheradon again due to the "party atmosphere". It is too loud and noisy and we could not get any sleep.

Service stinks, Housekeeping forgot to put towels in room, I had to practaclly beg and justify wanting some towels for our room as the staff did not want to give them to me. Staff threw towels at me, Manager told me they did not and called ma a liar, Did not appreciate our kids in their hotel, Said all our kids were horrible, which was not true, made up stories about people just and children just to have an excuse for their loss of money, yet I know that one person left because of cigarette smoke in their room, which the management could not do anything about. Not used to crowds or hosting kids when they are on events obviously. Did not enjoy my stay, Management takes staff sides over customers and will be happy to call customers liars when they are telling the truth. Maybe OK for quiet people who do not have kids and want a quiet weekend at a hotel that is not crowded, I don't know. Would never recommend this hotel to people with kids or people wantig to book several rooms (we had 30 rooms but all our kids were with parents) and they just could not handle it. Some of their other customers were complaining about having to wait in line for breakfast because of so many kids, yet we made our reservations in January and the management knew they'd be booked for that weekend well in advance. Do not book many rooms, I really don't think they can handle crowds. Staff told us they did not have to be nice to people because they only made $7.50 per hour and that they weren't paid enough. Ashame because its a pretty hotel. Will never stay there again, esp. since manager called me a liar.
