They step on the little ppl for big corporations!
So, me and my family, which totaled 8 of us all together, were planning on staying at this motel. We use to go here every year when we were small, and wanted to relive some childhood memories. We booked in May, and sent them a check for the full amount that was owed and paid in full. Here we are, one month to our trip, and we get a phone call. They double booked our rooms, and we got the boot. It took us a whole hour to find a replacement. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. They do not care about us, or our vacation. Instead, call the white pearl motel. That is where we are staying.
Angry, we emailed them. This is the copy, so you can see how wonderful they are to us.
"I want you guys to know that we are NOT forgetting that you just up and booted our PAID reservation. Yes, we received the check, but that shouldn't matter. I have complained on trip advisor, where I have hooked up with another woman who the same thing you did to us, you did to her family. We are not stupid. We know you cancelled us and gave it to someone you liked better. We both complained to the BBB and the other girl's family is fighting it. How can you sleep at night? My grandparents started the tradition of your motel 25 years ago. My grandmother is really sick, so my mom and I picked up the tradition last year. Guess what? Our tradition no longer includes staying at your dump. I am making sure everyone I know knows about this too!"
This was their response:
"We regret to inform you that we are full until September 12, 2009. Our recent upgrades with the value we provide along with our affordable pricing has created unprecedented demand to stay at our facility."
Then my mom:
"Really? your recent upgrades with the value you provide along with your affordable pricing has created unprecedented demand to stay at your facility???
If this is true then why wasn't I told this back in May when a booked a room and an apartment, sent you a check WHICH YOU CASHED, then sent me a letter confirming my reservations ?
Don't worry, since you obviously don't want a paying customer's business, in the future we will save you the trouble and book elsewhere. So will my friends and relatives who ask me for a reference for a hotel at Seaside Heights. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the New Jersey Tourist Bureau to inform them of your unprofessional way of conducting business along with the numerous other people whose reservations were also cancelled a month or less before their planned trips during the month of August.
These reservations might be trivial to you but the peace of mind knowing the you have a reservation is priceless to the many hardworking people who look forward to their vacations every year.
SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And their final reponse:
"We have apologized for your inconvenience pertaining to the overbooking of your room. As you know, you immediately got your deposit returned to you. Subsequently, we had referred you to the AAA rated New White Pearl Hotel who had agreed to honor our rate that is about $400.00 lower than their normal rate for the same time period.
You are aware we offer our 2 bedrooms for $695.00 per week vs our competition that is at $1,100.00 per week for a smaller unit. We have not raised our rates in years to cater to our repeat clientele. The value we provide is unmatched by anyone.
Your angry, nasty and hostile attacks upon us have resulted in us deciding not to rent to you or anyone in your party in the future. We are also contacting the White Pearl and asking them not to offer you or anyone in your party the discount that we requested for you.
The result of your attacks on us have guaranteed you will now have to pay more for less. We wish you good health and good fortune in the future and we will pray for you."
