There was a slight change to the planned trip. I do away with the visit to the Big Buddha for this trip and pushed back our Victoria Peak visit to Day 2. Neverthless, mummy, sis & I were still very much happy with the whole trip and I think my decision to cancel the Big Buddha visit is a wise one to allow mummy to enjoy the trip at a more desirable pace for her. Anyway...the first day was just a warm-up to things, (1) for me to familiarise the streets (2) for the trio to warm-up our stomachs to churn more food in the days to come. Day 1 and 2 (May 11 - 12) was spent traveling from San Antonio to Beijing. We took flights from San Antonio to Houston, Houston to San Francisco, and San Francisco to Beijing. We left at about 3 a.m. in San Antonio and arrived in Beijing at 6 p.m. We had a pleasant trip for the most part. After we arrived at the Beijing airport, we went through customs and met with the rest of our tour group and the tour guide. It is a group of 14 and we will be with them for the next 10 days. We have met all but one w...

8/7/08-8/9/08 - The flight nearly took 2 days. I got on the flight from JFK at about 10 and made a stop in Vancouver for a couple of hours, then continued the flight to Hong Kong International Airport and transferred to a Tokyo flight. Crazy, right? We finally reached Tokyo in 2-3 hours from Hong Kong. As we're heading to the Hilton Narita Hotel, I had a great feeling about this trip already. The country side seemed so surreal and peaceful. The hotel is really nice. Headed downstairs for food. We either had a choice for Japanese food or Chinese food. We're in Japan, of course! Save that Chines...
