We arrived on Grand Cayman following a storm so the beach was really quiet. Our first stop was the bar for our first pina colada!! Then we headed for the water. Slowly but surely, people started to appear. We met our new friend, Ann from Georgia, in the water. She filled us in on everything we needed to know about our resort. After a day and a half heading South, Shane and I finally arrived in Fort Lauderdale. We stayed the night at the Westin overlooking the beach (for free!! Gotta love rewards points!). We had Primanti's sandwiches for lunch and drove to West Palm in the evening. Our view from our room at the Westin! Gorgeous!! I could SO live in Fort Lauderdale! With everyone doing their travel Tues/Weds before Thanksgiving and returning the Sunday after Thanksgiving it gives a nice Fri/Sat window for sneaking out. Getting into LGA was a breeze, all flights were on time and virtually flawless (American Airlines: LGA to MIA to GCM). We took a cab to the resort, which cost ~US$22 with tip. Across the street was one of the best resturaunts we visited on the trip: Coconut Joe's . They have a diverse menu of surprisingly healthy food. I chose a rice bowl, which was really good...
