This was a nice, but not amazing trip. The highlight for me was the seafood, which was fresh and usually well prepared. Not a huge amount to do, activity-wise, but a day trip to Galveston was easy to plan and execute. There were fishing charters available, but we didn't do that. You will need your own car to get around, there is no public transportation as one would expect in a non-tourist trap area. Overall, if you are sick of tourist-y areas and want to explore some place more off the path and quiet, this is a good option. Show Less
