We left Austin around 10 am. We drove through West Texas and stopped at Texas Road House in Abilene for lunch. We had reserved seats for the Texas! Musical at Palo Duro Canyon, but actually arrived in Canyon earlier than expected, so we went ahead and drove to S. Amarillo to check into our hotel. After checking in and resting for a few minutes, we drove to Palo Duro Canyon to see the musical. The musical was great, and a perfect ending to a long day in the car. Today was the start of our trip. It has been pretty good so far... even if all it has been is a great deal of driving. We left Norman around 1pm and the town was covered in snow. It was just one day late of being a white Christmas. The Chevy Cobalt we rented is a pretty decent car and Sarah and I both enjoy driving something that is nicer then our normal junkers. We have only made two stops thus far: Starbucks in Gainesville, TX and Jack In The Box in Waco, TX. It's a big suprise that we both needed to stop and eat before the car needed fuel.
