We live in Atlanta so we flew into Denver and rented a car for a couple of reasons: first there are no big airports around the Black Hills, including Rapid City, so you have to go to a large city airport anyway and then change planes to continue on to a nearby city and that's just not for us. But the bigger reason is that we go on these trips to see the USA, the lay of the land, the country and countryside and the landscape. Day 1We arrived in Minneapolis today and went straight to the Mall of America. Wow! It was amazing. The indoor amusement park was awesome. We visited Minnehaha Park and Falls in Minneapolis and then headed north on the St Croix Byway. Near Stillwater as we traveled through the countryside in the distance we saw a black mass crossing the road. As we got closer we were astonished to see a full grow black bear amble across the road. Unfortunately we were too slow to pull out the camera. The town of Stillwater on the St Croix River deserved a stop but we were eager to get to our destination Moose ...

Wednesday, November 19th. The movers are finished packing and are loading the truck. We go to get the wire transfer for today's closing this morning at 9. The Fox Point building inspector comes by at 10 AM, judges us to be within compliance (yay!). We sell off our old dresser at 11 - too big to fit in the new place. By 1 PM, everything is ready to go. Down to sign the closing papers at 2:30, and by 4:00 we are the proud owners of a new home in Seattle (along with the one in Wisconsin). Next we went back to pick up Miranda from the Ellegards.
