We are piling stuff on the bed in the guest room for the last couple of days, and of course we are excited about finally gtting close to leaving. Ethel, (our GPS) is programmed, as well as the route all planned in streets and trips, and of course the computer will be on my lap part of the way to make sure we stay on track. On Day 1 we are just deadheading as far into North Carolina as we can get, because we have reservations in Staten Island for Saturday nite, and a planned dinner with Judy's Brother. Saturday, July 8th,2006 From Providence, Rhode Island to Mattapoisett and ending in North Falmouth, Massachusetts. Connie and I flew into T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island as usual. Made it to Rhode Island late Friday nitght so we spent the night in Warwick R.I. Then got up that morning and started heading towards the Cape. However before we got there we made a detour into Mattapoisett, a little town that was incorporated on May 20, 1857, but prior to that it was a village within the Town of Rochester. We decided to rent a car with the "Never Lost" GPS system, and I'm very glad we did. After we left the airport we headed to Lexington/Concord area. "Little Miss Never-Lost" took us through the Ted Williams Tunnel to the MIT and Harvard area. it probably wasn't the quickest way to get to where we were going, but we did get to Harvard which was not on our list of things to do. We made it to Lexington. The first thing I noticed is it wasn't really what I was expecting at all. I don't know why, but I thought it would be un-altered battlefield even though it really makes no sense that it would be. ...
