We arrived at Mall of America last night. G loved the roller coasters and rides, we didn't do any shopping because we are planning a 2 nite stay on the way home. If you have TONS of money and don't know where to spend it, this is the place. The Rain Forest Cafe was different, we had never eaten at one, but VERY expensive and noisy. All in all the boy had a great time, the Radison was very nice and we left early Wednesday to drive to the edge of the Badlands. Today we drove all day, from very stormy Mpls to the edge of the Badlands in Kadoka, SD. We're staying at the Budget Host Sundowner, a bi...

We flew to San Francisco and checked in at Nob Hill Motor Hotel, which is in a good location in San Francisco and affordable price; a couple blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. The old couple were very nice and gave us some good tips on where we should go and what areas we should avoid; We walked to Fisherman's Wharf and got dinner there. Afterwards, we climbed Hyde St to Lombard St to see the night view of the city. The view was fantastic. We headed back to our hotel and enjoyed the architecture on the way. We also saw couple ladies who just got out of the gym, and wondered why people need to be i...

The first day my wife and I left home at about 9:30 am and got to Donner Pass a little past noon. It was a good feeling to be free of the city in such a short time. We ate lunch at the Nugget Diner in downtown Reno. It was cheap, filling, a little greasy, fitting my preconceived notions of Reno. I recommend it. We continued on I-80 until Fernley, NV, where US 50 takes off. We were going to more or less follow 50, and later I-70 directly to Colorado Springs. Oddly enough, some Anglophile build a giant traffic circle at the intersection of I-80 and US 50. It seemed very out of place for such an ...
