Tom and Nella came from Toronto to visit Tom's brother, Jasper, in Palo Alto. We spent four days around Palo Alto, on the Coast, in San Fran, and in Napa. It was the 2nd time in the area for both of us, and again we were impressed - this is an awesome place. There is tons to do and see, the weather is great, the landscape is beautiful, and they have preserved a suprising amount of greenspace and wilderness. The only real problem with the trip was lack of time: four days just isn't enough. After visiting Stanford in the morning, we drove from Palo Alto, past Roberts Market (a great place to get...

Here I am standing in front of the Penguins at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. During my day we saw plenty of mysterious looking fish, sea kelp, jellyfish, and my favorite was the sea otters. I wish I would of gotten a picture of them getting fed. They were so cute and playful!! You cannot go to the coast without buying tasty Salt Water Taffy. We bought these friday night and planned on going to the hotel to relax and watch a movie. However, poor Chris was feeling very under the weather and ended up falling asleep around 7pm. He felt better the next morning. We ended up eating the taffy all weekend...

We arrived at the airport and took the Air Train to the rental car station, where we hopped in equipped with GPS (I highly recommend). We unloaded at the hotel we chose - the Westin - South San Francisco. Beautiful waterfront hotel, just south of the airport on the San Francisco Bay. The hotel is very well kep...
