I can't wait to go back!!!!!!!
I loved the rooms, mine was painted a happy yellow, with a mural on the celing, and quotes along the tops of walls, commerating San Francisco by authors, songwriters...The room was roomy and comfortable, clean and the best test, I did not want to leave. There was a bath and shower, windows that let fresh air in and heat if I got cold. Air conditioning was not necessary, the celing fan was adaquate. The only down side was the street noise, but it is in the city, and those it seemed a down side at the time, I felt later that I had experienced what living in a big city was really like, so the biggest down side, was actually an adventure. I loved looking out the window and watching the hustle and bustle of city. The bed was a dream, as was the wine and cheese served every afternoon. Personal was completely customer oriented, even down to the houskeeper who whe I asked for lotion, came later with three small bottles. Housekeeping was so kind and friendly, as were all the staff, and more helpful than I would expect. I suspect that this hotel is not part of huge chain, and I could feel the relaxed atmosphere every time I walked in, I felt like I was home away from home. There is no pool, but in San Francisco, there is so much to do, a pool is not necessairy. Their biggest Luxury at Savoy is the staff's attentivness, which was more interested in my comfort than many luxury hotels I have stayed at.
