Amathus Elite Suites, Ialysos

Knowing the standards of excellence of the Amathus Beach Hotels in Cyprus (Limassol and Paphos), we were certain that the Rodian Amathus would meet our expectations. So, without any hesitation, Alkis and I both agreed to book our Rodian holiday there. Although we arrived at a late (or early!!) hour - 01:30 am - friendly and smiling people greeted us at the Reception offering us warm towels to refresh ourselves. They immediately gave us the key to our suite explaining that we didn't have to fill in the check in form right away and that it could wait till the following day. We were promptly shown to our suite on the 5th floor while the porter assured us that he'd soon bring our luggage. We were pleasantly surprised by the double-deck suite, furnished in soft colours and overlooking the bay of Oxia. Soon afterwards, ..it was almost 02:00 am , we realised that we were starving ! All the restaurants of the hotel were closed at that time, so we ordered something from the room-service. We ordered spring rolls, a pizza and a bottle of red which were promptly served on the terrace of our room at 02:15 am. The service was just perfect ..as if we were dining at the hotel's main restaurant. What's more, we loved the tunnel joining the swimming pool with the beach so that we didn't need to cross the street! Unfortunately, the pebble beach was far below our expectations! Nothing to compare with Koukounaries in Skiathos..let alone Protaras ! What we liked most at the Rodian Amathus was the food! Whether for lunch at the Pool Deck on the 11th floor or for dinner at the Varkarolla Restaurant , the food was excellent ! Both in taste and in presentation....the culminating point being the Black and White gala dinner. Although we did not really appreciate the entertainment show and the loud music in such a romantic ambiance ( the show was far below the hotel's standards), we thoroughly enjoyed the home band - Stavros and ...hmmm Alexis , I think ...Please forgive me , if I forget the names of two very talented Rodian musicians! Last but not least, I would like to thank Stamatis at the Rodian Bar as well as Irini and Alexis at the Pool Deck for being so polite, so friendly and helpful and for making our holiday at the Rodian Amathus an experience to remember.
