St Ermins Hotel - MGallery Collection, London

(2003)I wish it was less per night, but it was close to underground, walking distance to Big Band, Westminster Abby, Eye, museums, loved it. Stayed also at Glaucoster West End last year 2005 and although also good location but service was so-so, and not as clean-neat, also $$$. Ready to be back in London searching for good value and place that I can come back yearly for a week or two.

Great location and great bargain for London, at Yahoo's "Best Buy" recommendation. Room was clean, spacious and quiet. Service was impeccable. Close in and nearby a subway station. We would definitely book there again.

The location of this hotel is very good. We walted to Buckingham Palace through St James Park. Victoria station is nearby and the Tube is literally right around the corner. Attractions are close but you will need to take a cab or get the bus (Big Bus/tour or city). Hotel room was fine but not luxurious in any way. Window latch wouldn't close and bathroom was tiny. Lift/elevator is sort of funny because only 3 people can fit inside it's approx 3' by 8' space. But I'm not complaining because it was a nice experience and would stay there again.

My daughter and I stayed at the St. Ermin's for four nights and we loved it. The location is very good. After reading other reviews we were prepared for a room the size of a closet but were surprized to find it so comfortable. Not big but big enough. The hotel was clean and well run. The staff were very helpful and were nice enough to give us early check in. The continental breakfast was included with the room and was just what you would expect food wise and presented quite nicely. We found the locals at the Old Star Pub nearby very nice and the Foster's beer was cold and wonderful. You can feel very safe there as Scotland Yard is directly across the street from the hotel with officers posted round the clock at least while we were there in the 3rd week in August. We would absolutely stay there again.

The staff was most helpful, professional, and user-friendly. Room was small, yes, but this is typical in Europe. The location cannot be beat. Walk to Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, etc. Tube station nearby. I highly recommend. Was there in late August, 2006. The concierge can get you tickets to the theatre, but be prepared to pay an extra fee.

If you are visiting London and want to see the sights there is no better place to stay. A very short walk to Buckingham Palace in one direction and Westminister abby in the other. St James tube station is just a heart beat away and the Train close too. Staff at the hotel is great as is the food. Its quaint, its close with Scontland Yard just a few steps away its secure. Loved the place.

An aging grand old hotel - but clean and very comfortable. I had a 6th-floor room in the back. Very quiet and comfortable, but not the greatest view. The rooms in front trade a little more street noise for a better view out the window. Two microscopic elevators (which were never too busy - and were actually kind of cool!) I don't like a lot of hotel 'service', just a clean and comfortable room. This was perfect. The windows open. The tea pot in the room was handy. Friendly but unobtrusive staff. The location couldn't be better. I will certainly stay here again.

The rooms are somewhat small, but you probably won't spend too much time in them. The hotel is in a good location near St. James underground, which is convenient. It is a short walk to Buckingham Palace and Westminter Abby. There is WiFi internet in the lobby. The service not the best but not the worst...

This hotel provides near business class services at a reasonable price. But of course, you get what you pay for, so expect small rooms, worn out painting and carpets and a feel that this used to be a great hotel, but now it really needs a thorough makeover. But again, if you are looking for a hotel that has good levels of service without being willing to spend the price of regular business level hotels, this could be the hotel for you. The 4 stars are given for good value-price ratio.
