Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/25/10
The Radisson chain switched us here which was an upgrade from their hotel in Earls Court. The first room was very small but after talking to the front desk the next one was adequate no problem or argument. The best part of the hotel is one of the assistant conciege , Paul who was excellent. Breakfast was excellent with great variety & enough so that you can skip lunch. The location is right in the middle of all the action. Tube is 3 minutes walk. Buckingham Palace is 15 min walk. Piccadilly Circus * many of the theatres are 20 min.Harrods is a 10 min bus ride. One tip is to buy a 1 or 3 or 5 day tube pass otherwise it gets expensive.I lived in London as a child but had not been back for many years but I would stay here again.

Grade- C
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/9/09
Good location- near tubes, buses. Stainsbury market directly across street for quick and reasonably priced food. Not too much to say about staff- waiter in hotel restaurant over-charged us for breakfast (which was already $$$) and had poor attitude. Front desk staff not very friendly either. Requested "No Maid Service" (door knob sign)and came back to find 2 maids cleaning our room when we needed to sleep. Room had flat screen tv, free wireless internet, small safe, tea kettle. Comfortable bedding. Biggest complaint was smell of room- something they use to freshen the carpet or maybe a new trendy idea to have scented hotel rooms? Whatever it was it made our clothes and luggage smell like strong perfume and was irritating to my husband's eyes. I had to agree, it was offensive. He asked front desk for another room, but it was infused with the same strong scent and smelled the same way. Not able to open windows either. Would not stay here again and will inquire if other Radisson Hotel properties are using this scented stuff in their rooms after hearing that it's designed to make guests feel "welcome". What Harvard MBA came up with this nonsense.

Good room and great location
By Steven, 2/9/08
The bed slept well and the room is a nice size for London. The rooms have flat panel LCD TVs and free wifi. There is a decent work-out facility, 3 treadmills and several weight machines plus free weights. The attached bar has great traffic. Plus, the Green Park underground is close and centrally located to many great locations, including Picadilly Circus and Oxford Street. Plus, the Green Park underground stop is on the Picadilly line which takes you to London Heathrow and Victoria is only 1 stop away, which is great if you are arriving from the Gatwick Express train from LGW. I have stayed here several times and recommend this hotel.

Details count!
By Katxond, 8/28/06
Stayed at the Radisson Mayfair for one night, staff was friendly and helpful but the room let them down. Badly insulated room (7th floor) we still could hear clearly the traffic outside and an elevator room (or something) next door that didn't let us sleep (room 702 to be avoided!). Parking (At Holiday Inn) was outrageously overpriced, room had tea/coffee facilities but no biscuits or anything to have with it (Any B&B would have that), obviously room service provided them but you don't expect the hassle of calling room service for a biscuit, do you? Ah! forgot the detail of having to cue for breakfast, they clearly couldn't cope with so many of us turning up for a little bite in the morning, not to mention that when we were offered the table there were still left overs from the previous guests. Room's entertaining system didn't work either. I am not ususally so fussy about these things but I expect a 5 star hotel to take care of details. Rgds. Ps: £45 overnight parking is not a detail for me bytheway.

a hole in the wall
By babasave, 2/26/06
it's located perfectly but the staff was not very kind and the room wasn't too big. in the bath there was a hole in the wall and on the whole outside building work is going on so you might not want to open your windows if you don't want to look right in the eyes of bob the builder ... you woul rather expect more than you get.

not what they claim to be
By babasave, 1/7/06
being honest i was disappointed. first i was exited after my company send me my travel info, cause i took a look at their website. there they claim to be a lot ... read yourself ... but as i arrived they gave me a room that wasn´t cleand after the guest before me has checked out!!!! a five star hotel??? not at all ... no wireless lan as i expected after reading their website and so on ... localized perfeckt in the heart of london but that was all. if i had spent my private money/time on them i would have been even more dissapointed.. so if you ask me don´t spend your money there. londons got so much icer cheaper and better places to stay.

Awesome Hotel!
By dragon126, 9/25/05
This hotel is great! Nice facilities. It is very clean. In the public restrooms, instead of paper towels, you are provided actual towels to wipe your hands with. There is also an internet cafe. Plus it is near everything from the nearest Underground station to nigtclubs. There is a supermarket and Starbucks just around the corner and the neighborhood is located just off Picadilly. Buchingham Palace is just a walk away across Green Park.

worth the stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/17/05
My wife and I came here for our honeymoon thru a vacation package from an american airline. Our first room left much to be desired (lowend room). Upon upgrading, we were very much pleased. the staff was very professional and helpful. Infact, we left to return home without a few rolls of film, left at the nearby filmstore, but one call took care of that problem. We would gladly book again.
