Parkhotel Wasserburg Anholt, Isselburg

I have been to this hotel three times. The first time in 1987 and the most recent visits in 2001 and 2002. Working overseas I have occasion to travel a fair amount. This hotel is by far the most interesting as far as cleanliness, accommodating staff and superb rooms. The castle itself is worth a visit plus the grounds are magnificant. It is a tremendous place to come with a loved one or alone. My last trip was by myself and was a completely relaxing experience. A fine breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the moated grounds and then a round of golf. The surrounding area also has many interesting sites to visit including a nature park with various types of local animals. Plus you must try the roasted duck. Enjoy yourself in a fine German setting with friendly people and go back in time to the days when people had time to enjoy the finer (but simpler ) things in life.
