La Residence De La Pinede, Saint-Tropez

Stayed in the summer last year in a suite. Nearly £2k a night. Food was inedible, overpriced and very sickly/ greasy. Compared to the Eden Roc, Hotel du Cap etc not in the same league. Full of russians and young kids, Staff very alloof

We stayed at La Pinede about 10 times: Always in Spring, during a week. It USED to be a wonderful hotel with great service, but the last two years we saw it go down rapidly: Very overpriced for what you're getting. Staff is on automatic pilot and not friendly and helpful: On the verge of being arrogant. The rooms have seen better days and espacially the bathrooms need updating. The hotel has a great appeal to Russians and families with small children (because of it's beachside location)and it's almost impossible to have some piece and tranquility. There are many more very good hotels in the area with far better value for money!
