A wonderful \"one of a kind\" experience!!
Chateau Trigance is located in the beautiful Gorge du Verdon region that makes for great day trips but offers peace and tranquility like you have never experienced. You feel like you are alone with only goats and a few towns people for many miles! The chateau has only 10 rooms so there is never a crowd and we have met many nice people over the years. Enjoy an aperitif on the terrace and watch the sunset before dinner. The food is WORLD CLASS!! Three fixed priced menus or a la carte choices to die for! The Thomas family are the owners (and the people who won a gold metal from the French govermement for restoring this historic chateau!) and are always there to make sure your every wish is taken care of. My wife is diabetic and they catered to her every need as far as food preprations, making beautiful dishes not on the menu!! Ask Guillaume (William in English) to select a wine to suit your pallette and the meal you are enjoying. He will never steer you wrong or steer you to expensive wines. The breakfast are wonderful as well. The quaint village sits below the chateau with several artisians and friendly shop keepers. We have found it to be a great starting point for a french vacation. We fly into Paris and on to Nice (almost the same cost as only to Paris), renting a car, driving to Trigance (about 2 hours north of Nice but easy driving). Plan on spending at least 2-3 nights to really get into "la bon vie" the GOOD LIFE! Cost?? A TRUE bargain for rooms and the food!! This will be 12 years we have returned, what else can I say? If your peaceful evening is interruped by a helicoper it will be the REALLY rich folks from Monaco where their yacht is in the harbor!
