Sokos Hotel Torni, Helsinki

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were really nice and the breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Finland. Location was really great for getting around Helsinki. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous hotel, my favourite in the world, with my favourite bar in the world too...the Ateljee on the 14th floor. If you ever visit Helsinki at midsummer, make an effort ot go there at midnight and watch the sunset splash move around the horizon before the sun pops up again...it never actually gets completely dark. I love the unique character of the hotel, the individuality of the rooms - go for a 'superior - it's worth it and the fact that staff really go out of their way to help you and make your stay wonderful. For example...on one trip in midwinter, finding me a fan as I was suffering from hot flushes - minus 24 outside and mad Englishwoman wants a fan? and on another trip, on my husbands birthday, going out to buy what looked like a full size outdoor firework to put in his dessert! And language problems? - oh come on...virtually every Finn speaks english, and those in service industries have to! Hyvaa Paiva! Michelle Jones

nice place to be. good locality, good shopping & eating places outside. in the heart of helsinki, can take tram & go places. good service available in hotel & more over good to know that the hotel has a history behind it.

Best hotell in Helsinki, location, rooms and staff!! Classic hotel in the centre with a bar at the top with the best view of Helsinki. Challenge the bar down stairs, haven´t yet beeb able to order a drink they can´t make!

Together with my wife we had one of the Glass-rooms, something you must know in order even to have the chance to line up for one. Totally renowated, sleek, clean Nordic / modern style, excellent value for the experience. Ask about possibilities to visit other odd rooms, since very few rooms are alike. Something for other hotels to copy. Really a place of fast return.

This is mainly a response for the critique that complained there were no translators. English is the third language of Finland. I've lived here for almost 8 months and never have I had any difficulty communicating with locals in English - even in Lapland - which makes learning their language all the more difficult. In service related industries it's practically a requirement that all employees speak it. Therefore, I can only conclude that this particular person was not actually there. The hotel is nice and the bar on top offers the best view of Helsinki -especially at night...
