Picturesque hotel in picturesque city

An excellent base for enjoying the city of Granada with its shops and many excellent restaurants (Le Bistro, Cafe Vivaldi, etc.) and for enjoying the surroundings, including volcanoes, island boat ride, etc. Other visitors' comments about Allen, the manager, are right on. He is thoroughly pleasant, helpful, and resourceful in making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
There are less expensive hotels in Granada, some of them very pleasant, but the Alhambra's location with its restaurant-veranda on the city plaza make give it a special flavor.
We have visited Granada several times and always enjoyed the city--in a very relaxed way. Swimming at the Piscina Vivaldi, swimming and tennis at the jockey club, basketball on the public court each evening (these guys can really play, and they are incredibly accommodating in welcoming a stranger from the US into the game), breakfast at Kathy's, etc.
