Alhambra Hotel, Granada

We have stayed in numerous places in Grenada. While there are some other newer facilities around, the Alhambra offers that old world charm that we look for in a city like Granada. While the rooms are not up to snobbish US traveler standards, they are clean and neatly kept. It is a great place to relax. The food is good but there are some better restaurants around. The lobby is cool and comfortable, open to the outside air. The best part is being able to relax on the front veranda, with a cup of coffee and watch the town square in action!!

The Alhambra has a lot of appeal from the street and the lobby is splendid in all respects with loads of charm. I only wish the rooms were half as good. In particular the air conditioner in the room was as noisy as a lawnmower and the pillows were about as comfortable as sleeping with your head on a sack of potatoes. The general shabbiness of the rooms have led me to find much better hotels in Granada. Staying in the Alhambra was ultimately a disappointment.

Hotel Alhambra is well located in granada very close to everything that you need to visit on your visit to Granada.Hote service is a A+, attention A+, cleaningness A+, and most of all the price per room defenetely a allaround AAAA++++. I have been to Nicaragua 2 times in 1999 and 2004 and both times i had stayed at Hotel Alhambra for all the reasons that I just gave you. This summer I will traveling again to Nicaragua and one of my stops it will be hotel alhambra..2007

The hotel looks great from the outside and the lobby looks great too, but the rooms are a completely different story. They are small, dirty looking, and honestly gave me the feeling that they had just put up a wall that day to add another room, and a flimsy wall at that.

The location is great. The people are very nice. I have stayed in nicer hotels but this one has definate old world charm. We have stayed ther on 4 different occasions and have never been disappointed.

Excellent conditions very good customer service,very clean,good food, rooms very roomy & perfect location. Rates are at the right price and I am very please averall.

What can I say,,,Great place, friendly people and great location. We had a fantastic time. We were there with our three young children and they put us in two rooms joined by a door as well as the bathroom. Both had tv and a/c, but as the other writer said, "who could watch them" with so much to do and see.

Actually got married there, in the ballroom it was a great hotel and a great experience. The owner was a great host and their service was number #1. Norman Herdocia

My fiance and I were driving around the beautiful country of Nicaragua and came to Granada to find a place to stay. Every place was booked but we stopped at the Alhambra Hotel and they had a few rooms left. This hotel was beautiful. It was very open and airy. It reminded me of an old spanish colonial type hotel. It was spectacular and much much better than all the other places that we stopped to see if they had any rooms. And the price was very affordable. Their rates were $50-$85. We got the suite that was $85. It was well worth it! I give this place two thumbs up!

An excellent base for enjoying the city of Granada with its shops and many excellent restaurants (Le Bistro, Cafe Vivaldi, etc.) and for enjoying the surroundings, including volcanoes, island boat ride, etc. Other visitors' comments about Allen, the manager, are right on. He is thoroughly pleasant, helpful, and resourceful in making your stay as enjoyable as possible. There are less expensive hotels in Granada, some of them very pleasant, but the Alhambra's location with its restaurant-veranda on the city plaza make give it a special flavor. We have visited Granada several times and always enjoyed the city--in a very relaxed way. Swimming at the Piscina Vivaldi, swimming and tennis at the jockey club, basketball on the public court each evening (these guys can really play, and they are incredibly accommodating in welcoming a stranger from the US into the game), breakfast at Kathy's, etc.
