\"Relaxing stay\"
By ,
I stayed at the Hibiscus Lodge when i got married in June. It was a very relaxing stay. I had the oceanview room and I would make the same choice should the need arise. Breakfast was good and the staff was very courteous. I definately would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of life. If you are searching for an all inclusive this is not the place, this is a "bed and breakfast" caribbean style!! Whenever I return to Jamaica and need a place to stay I will definately stay at this hotel. My only regret is that I had to leave.

Will stay each time I visit Jamaica
By ,
A great place for the family to relax and enjoy ocho rios which is within walking distance. I had the pleasure of staying there for 10 days last summer,The staff is great rooms are clean, food is great my only dislike no refrigerator in the room you must pay some one for a cooler and ice or depending on how long you are staying bring your own cooler and pay for the ice.

Horrible, Discriminated Against!!!
By ,
This hotel came highly recommended to us and we'd been trying to make a reservation here since the new year. So on March 28, while back in Jamaica, the following is what transpired, leaving me with a very bitter impression of this establishment: That Saturday, my boyfriend and I left Mandeville heading to St. Ann. Our intention was not to overnight there, but after getting a late start, we realized we would have to. I called back to my mother’s house and asked her to find the number for your hotel and call to check availability for us. My mother confirmed availability and my boyfriend (who has a very thick Jamaican accent) called right away to make the reservation. Upon calling about ten seconds later, he was told by Tanya, that there were no rooms available Strange. So I called right back, literally within seconds of him hanging up, and was told by the said Tanya, that “Oh yes, we have rooms, the cost is $6000 for tonight and $7000 for tomorrow night” So, I made the reservation with the sole intent of arriving at the hotel to truly find out if my boyfriend was really being discriminated against for “having a Jamaican accent” Mind you, I am Jamaican also, and so is my mother. And as far as I can tell, so is Tanya. But the fact that he sounded more Jamaican means he cannot stay in the Hibiscus Lodge? Whatever HL. Go get your foreign money. I'll keep my US dollar in my pocket and spend it where I'm not treated as less than just because we're Jamaican.

A Hidden Gem
By ,
Our stay at the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel was an absolute treat. We arrived in Ocho Rios late one evening and were looking for a hotel to stay in. Six of the hotels we had checked with were sold out. We drove a little ways off the hotel and restaurant strip and found this little hotel hiding in the dark. At night it didn't look like much, but when the sun rose, the hotel was perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was very nice (particularily the food service staff), and the ocean view from the hotel and pool were fantastic. The swimming area was shallow enough the swim in for 50 yards, and beyond that point, there was a reef you could snorkel on. This is a place we will definitely return to...it is now my hidden gem.

Lovely spot
By ,
We found the place purely by accident. We had stayed in Runaway for 6 days I think. It was our second last night so we checked out and headed toward Ocho. Saw the Hibiscus and decided to check it out. Well we got our money's worth and more. Absolutely beautiful and tranquil and a great place to relax and chill. The man made beach area and the swimming area was lovely and private. We were there off season as well so totally private. Will definitely go back. Room lovely as well with the vaulted ceiling.

My family started staying at this wonderful resort 2004 and every year the stay is just makes me specless every time I talk about it in 2000 are intresset started to begin hearing our friends talk about what an amazing place it is they had been going sinc the early 1950's and have been going since. the friendly staff make yo feel welcome in the beautiful enviroment the hotel has to offer (gardens, pondes, gazibose,) my family is going again in the early hours of 2008.the rooms my not be the most modern but the resort is working on (snazying) up them but the rooms dont relly matter to me that much I mean in this enviroment you are almost alway active wether its playing teniss in the courts located above the bakery (wich makes the best pastrys for every brekfeast) in the beautiful garden.the frendly service makes you feel asif your at home with your frends and after going this many time the staff are like family,my kide got tought how to fold napcines in many diffrent ways and got takin out snorkalingg with the life gades learning many thing about the aquotice wildlife in the reaf only meaters away from the hotels beach.I will forshour come again.

Family Reunnion
By ,
I stopped at the Hibiscus with my 2 children aged 8 yrs and 8 months along with my dad and brothers and cousins from 30 May 2007 - 13 June 2007 and I cannot explain how we enjoyed our stay we would definetly stop there next time we come to jamaica. We also had our family reunion there and everyone enjoyed themselves. The cateing staff were very pleasant along with the maids and the lifeguards and all members of staff. Everything was wonderful along with the tours we went on when we went to fern gully, dunns river, brownstown and Bob Marley Museum. Thanks again

Absolutely amazing
By ,
I spent two weeks at the Hibiscus Lodge and can't wait to go back. The staff were so friendly and attentive, it was great. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, a feast for the senses. The rooms were spotless, as were all the public areas. It was so much better than the cookie cutter resorts that dot the Carribean. Next time we go, it will be just the two of us, enjoying a true slice of paradise.
