Will never go there again
By ,
I found this Holtel to be old. The beach does not have nearly enough shade huts and as a result we had to get up at 4:15 am every day to reserve the hut. I have seen men almost get into fist fights over the huts. I did not go on vacation to have to get up at 4:15am! When sea weed washes up on the beach they do have a beach rake machine to rake it up but then they just leave it in huge piles at the shore line. We spent so much money to go on vacation so our children could enjoy the sea, but they could not even go in there because of sea weed. The staff is friendly enough although it took us almost 2 hours to check in. The rooms are good size your standard Holiday Inn. The food was the same every day and there were absolutely no activities. We would not stay there again. Was this review helpful? Yes - No (Report Problem)

the pool area was very nice
By ,
The actual hotel is dirty, some of the buildings in the resort are dirty and in need of repair. The food was good in the restaurant and buffet. We did the all inclusive and it worked out well for us. The pool area was fairly new and very nice, if it did not have the pool area the hotel would be difficult to stay at. The people who worked at the hotel were pleasant and nice. The beach was great and location was good.

Great time
By ,
The holiday inn is a great palce to go with family, might not be the best for couples. It offers many activities to do and the food is great. If you get a standerd room, you might be facing air conditioners which are very loud at night and an eye-sour to look at. If you are not one for the ocean (why wouldn't you be?) the pool is not that great, its small and theres not much to it. Overall this hotel is great and so is the island of Aruba.... I will be back.

True Paradise
By ,
I recently got married there and the hotel staff, especially our wedding coodinator, Danny Fernandez, was absolutely impecable. They looked after every detail with a fine tooth comb. Everyone needs to go there at least once in your lifetime. It is to die for.

Awsome Honeymoon~~~
By ,
The resort was absolutely beautiful. We were on our honeymoon and everyone there made our stay very special. From the food to the service everything was amazing. Aruba itself is an amaing island and we're going back in April!!! For anyone wishing to visit Aruba, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Sunspree!!!!! You won't regret it.

11th year
By ,
There are six of us retired folks who have been to Aruba in January for the last 10 years. While the hotel is not the Marriott, it is great for what we need. As far as saving the beach chairs, see one of the beach staff. For a couple of $$ they will save one for you and you won't have to get up early. This is how they make their living too. There are many, many restaurants that you can go to if you don't want to eat there. Buffets at the Raddison(call in advance), Buckaroo,Tony Roma's, Texas de Brazil,Ristorante Tuscany's,Smokey Joe's, Playa Linda (next door) had a good breakfast and lunch. Their restaurants are also good. All are within walking distance of the hotel.

bad choice of hotel
By ,
This hotel was disapointing to say the least.Bathrooms were small and had poor lighting, even in the renovated rooms. The buffet was poor and the ala carte restaurant was limited the menu was always the same every single night. By 7am all the huts were reserved. What sservice?there was none because you never saw any staff anywhere except 2 people at the reception desk. They said all rooms had ocean views or garden views, but where was the garden.we over looked the parking lot and air conditioning units. We asked o be upgraded and had to pay for it.go to aruba, pick another hotel!!!

50s Couple Will Definitely Go Back
By ,
We took a cab from the airport and had a quick check in. Our room was upgraded at no cost. We stayed in a Superior room (with ocean view) in the Aruba Tower which was newly renovated and very clean. Front desk and housekeeping service was great. We did not go all inclusive and it was a great decision. There are many really good restaurants and casinos within walking distance so we got enjoyed quite a variety. The bus stops right out front if you want to go to the grocery store or downtown shopping or to dinner. My husband went diving several times. We did have to get up early to get in line for the shade hut-this was a new procedure they had just initiated so people could not reserve the huts. This seemed to work well as you had to be present to get one. Those who wanted one, including us, did not seem to mind getting there for 7:00 and it became a social gathering. The hotel should consider adding more huts though. We have stayed at other all inclusive resorts on other islands and have stayed previously at the low rise hotels in Aruba. The Holiday Inn has been the best location and the beach is great. After reading the reviews we were a bit leary about going to the Holiday Inn, however we were pleasantly surprised- especially for the price we paid. It may not be a five star resort but we did not pay for a five star resort. We definitely will go back to Aruba and the Holiday Inn...hopefully next year. We loved our week in Aruba and the Holiday Inn.

Aruba - The Happy Island
By ,
Aruba is a great place to vacation. The climate is nearly perfect. There is always a breeze and plenty of sunshine. I rate the hotel as average. It's old and could use some remodeling. I loved the lighting in the bathroom. You could actually see what color your make up was when putting it on. Staff was friendly but not in a hurry to help you. We had a long wait at bars and restaurants. There were alot of families there with children. You do have to get up at 5:30 or 6:00 to get a cabana. This would be a good place to stay if you're on a budget or have children, but I will probably stay in one of the low rise hotels on eagle beach next time.
