South Ocean Golf & Beach Resort, New Providence

I purchased aa time share in 1991 it was a great resort but it's been in and out of recevership plus closed for restoration i've been trying to get updates on the progess of this venture but no one is responding to any of my letters

I love this place, the people, the tranquility, the service, the value. OK, I visited the Clarion South Ocean resort varies times and each and every time I've enjoyed myself to the fullest. It's been my place of retreat for tranquility & a place for bonding as well. OK, its a little secluded but when your in the city that never sleeps that is just want you want. The services are excellent, dining is exquisite and the commodities are just what you need and want out of a real vacation.

What a Beautiful, secluded place to relax without the expense of flying to Aruba! My Husband and I spent several vacations there during the off season in October. We Loved walking the beach or sometime just sitting on the Balcolny of the third floor apartment overlooking the ocean! I worked for a Fortune 500 company and the privacy of the beach and the remote location was the ideal de-stresser!! We rented a car and went into town for food & entertainment. Afterwards, returned to our beach front apartment, opened the lovured doors and were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean.... I MISS THIS PLACE! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL IT REOPENS!

My husband and I spent an October honeymoon at this location. It was a fantastic time of year to visit. We felt as if we were on our own island. Since, October is off season time we had access to the pool, pool room and exercise room when ever we wanted. The other guests were mature and we did not have to deal with rowdy crowds. If we felt like being festive we took the shuttle bus to Cable Beach or Paradise Hotel.Then we would return to the serene, comfortable South Ocean Resort. Besides, the hotel was affordable and cozy for an intimate getaway.

Ive gone here for years and it is one of the best places i have ever been. Traveled to different islands, and the hotel and location cant be beat. you are literally right on the water. Such a beautiful sight to wake up, open the doors and see the ocean right in front of you!

We stayed at this location on our honeymoon in March 03, it was ok the locatation was bad to far from everything that you wanted to do and the cab fair was way to expensive, take the city bus still $1.00 each way. the some of the staff was very helpful and some where rude. the resturant was not but to expensive but there was not other place to go for food. The rooms to me were very nice I would go back there if you rent a car or the build out there

I love the location its, the perfect place to escape to. It was the vacation I ever had. I've told all my and others they should visit Bahamas and they should stay at South Ocean!

I stayed in a first level ocean front room, I enjoyed the room location with 2 entrances one from the garden and one from the beach! Yet the food was not great at at all so I purchased fruit in town for breakfast and ate at the various Cable Beach hotels for daily meals. The shuttle was extremely helpful for getting around and I loved the beautiful touristy ride into town each day. This secluded hotel is far from kids, college students and the usual hub bub you can find at just about any major resort city. I pray that I can get married at this hotel someday! If you enjoy privacy and the beauty of (clean) beaches this place is for you. If you're looking for great meals and lots of partying, stay at the major hotels on Cable Beach or Paradise Island.

we went there about 2002 and we enjoyed the hotel, it was quiet, relaxing, the food was so good, we went and did the snorkling, did other fun things. we were on the golf course part but it would've been nice to stay by the ocean but still alright. i kind of wished we stayed longer but maybe some day we'll go back.

The only thing that keep South Ocean from being Heaven on earth was Jesus was not there. The rooms were large the employees friendly, entertainment fun. It was just great. Secluded!!!
