Los Tules is falling apart at the seams
The Los Tules resort is situated on the outskirts of downtown PV. The property is very old; you can tell many years ago it was a nice place to stay. However, today, most of the 15+ buildings are under some sort of dis-repair and are being minimally renovated. When you walk around the property you get the general uneasy feeling, seeing buildings in various stages of disrepair, paint peeling, stucco crumbling, roof tiles falling apart and many unoccupied rooms.
They switched our reserved 3 BR unit for an 'upgraded' 3 BR unit. This was the only unit in this particular building that was usable - in other words, there was nobody else staying in this building as the other units were being repaired.
The only good about this unit was the view of the ocean. When we arrived the unit hadn't been cleaned, the floors were filthy, there were ants everywhere and exposed wires in the kitchen.
The hot water didn't work when we arrived; after they worked on it the water turned a disgusting brown and never got it fixed. The units on either side were in serious disrepair. The 3rd bedroom had a loft that never cooled down and was unusable. The bathroom off the loft was unclean, was leaking water onto the floor, and was filthy with a horribly foul smell. It also had an unfinished room with a door to the roof which was left unlocked.
They moved us into our originally reserved room which had been renovated but was still unclean - floors dirty, faucets had mineral build up and again ants. The 3rd room again in this unit which was on the 3rd flooor, did NOT have air conditioning; just two windows, a fan - it stayed hot and humid with the blairing sun.
We met with the Park Royal staff (Club Royal Holiday) for a 'sales pitch' to get a discount card. When we mentioned all the issues we were having, we were met with incredible indifference and rudeness. They even denied we were staying in one of the Park Royal units even though it had their placard on the door and every window. Mgmt does not care about customers - it was evident the only focus was to take our money 'and run'. The sales staff were standing around like hawks waiting for their prey. The sale director was the worst of them all - he spoke in spanish so we couldn't understand how he was advising his staff to deal with us. When we went to speak with him directly he wouldnt answer our questions and blamed our issues on a low level sales employee. They were even reluctant to give out the sales director's name (see photo of mgmt attached here).
Overall we were very disappointed in the staff of both Los Tules and Park Royal. The mgmt / hotel staff were incredibly inept, inefficient and discourteous. The cleaning, grounds and restaurant staff were nice. I would never go back and would never recomend this 'resort'.
