Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/20/06
I've been an annual traveller to Fiesta Americana Condesa Acapulco for the last 7 years. My recent trip (Jan 11-16) was disappointing. I will not return to the hotel. My room was nice however, the change to a "Vacation Village" theme resulted in unwelcomed offers to attend sales meetings. The quality of food and services have deteriorated. The breakfast cook did not use sanitary practices and used her bare hands when handling food ingredients.

Just spent a fantastic 7 days here!
By Hitman, 11/19/05
This was our first trip to Mexico and we used a timeshare to stay at this hotel. We found the rooms, staff, pool area and views exceptional. We brought our 15 month old son with us and the beautiful pool with its shallow area was perfect for him to cruise around in. I will say, however, that if you do bring a child who still needs to sleep in a crib, you may want to consider briging a pac-n-play along. The cribs at the hotel are way below standard compared to what the US safety guidelines dictate. We ended up having to take the extra blankets from the room and weaving them in and out of the rails on all sides of the crib to prevent his head or arms or legs from sticking out and getting stuck. The rooms are also less than childproof, with marble floors and heavy, solid furniture, but we were in our rooms for so little time, we made do. There is so much to do at night, that if you bring your children I would definitely consider bringing along someone to watch them in the evenings as my husband and I did. I did, however, notice that they have a rather large area for child activities during the day to keep the little ones occupied. Our son was just too young for that. One thing I can say for sure is that the staff is quite attentive to not only you as the guest, but also to maintaining the grounds. You never see debris or garbage. It helps to brush up on your conversational spanish before you go although most hotel staff speak, or at least understand english. Per another review that I read, if you stay in this hotel, the night life noise may be bothersome to some, especially if you stay on the "pool side" of the hotel, but honestly, we had no problems tuning it out. In regards to the restaurant, by the end of the week you are definitly ready to have lunch somewhere else. Although most entrees were good, the selection tends to get a bit limited. We generally ate lunch there and then went out for dinner. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection for all tastes. If you can, try and check in early to mid-week. It was not nearly as crowded when we arrived on Tuesday as it got on Friday when everyone else checked in. We have defintely recommended this palce to our friends already and have only been home for less than a week.

Not a bad option...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/05
Just returned from a 4 night stay in Acapulco. We stayed at the Fiesta Americana on Condesa Beach. The main thing I can say , is that 'Location is Everything'. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, then you will need to get off of Condesa Beach area. Our room was o.k. .... Nothing special, but everything in the room worked. AC wasn't high powered , but did the job. Room was clean. We had a room right next to the elevator which was not a very desirable spot. Could hear everyone coming in from a late night of drinking. Would recommend getting a room on either end of the hotel. We had a deluxe high floor room. Paid extra to have a room on higher section of hotel. While this didnt do much good for lowering street noise, the view was spectacular. Hotel staff was very friendly.
