Very Good

I am 18 and got back yesterday from this hotel - first of all, I was able to check-in with absolutely no problems even though I am under 21, staff was friendly and spoke good english at the front desk.
I reserved a One Bedroom - European plan for myself and my girlfriend, and the room was huge. Separate bedroom with king bed and ~25 inch TV, large bathroom with jet tub and shower, kitchenette with stove, microwave, and large fridge, and a separate living area with couch, ~50 inch TV, two balconies, yes, two for some reason, adjacent and with a nice view of both the street and the beach/ocean. I was in room 1410 which was a corner room.
The beach is nice, very crowded if you want shade, however, and there are people walking around trying to sell you massages or corn rows in your hair which gets annoying. You can get 4 beers for 80 pesos or about 8 US dollars, also food at the beach and room service is fairly reasonable, at around 100 pesos/10 dollars a meal. We ordered two Mimosas one morning for 120 pesos and they were delievered very promptly.
We only ate one meal at the restaurant, the breakfast buffet, and I would not recommend it for the price (I think about 200 pesos per). However, there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, which is what we did.
This is a very nice place to stay, and I really appreciated how easy it was to walk outside the hotel and be in the city, go to bars, restaurants, walk around, etc.
Random notes:
- When we checked out we had a few hours to kill, so we asked the front desk if they would hold our bags, which they did. Maybe this is normal.
- Read that brochure when you first get into your room. You'll discover that if you leave dirty dishes in the room, the maids will clean them for 10 US dollars (!). Needless to say my girlfriend cleaned lots of dishes this past weekend.
- Directly across the street from the hotel is a store called OXXO, which is a convenience store and a good place to pick up drinks, snacks, etc.
- Employees at the restaurants surrounding the hotel spoke VERY minimal English, almost none. I speak very minimal Spanish so I was able to competently order and pay for our food, but if you and your party speak not a word of Spanish.. well, it'll be tough to communicate.
- Taxis in Mexico in general are willing to barter, to a certain extent, on a price to your destination. They do not have electronic meters like US Taxis. Remember "Cuanto cuesta?" (How much?)
- If you are taking a bus from Acapulco to Mexico City to catch a plane, the bus company we took was Estrella de Oro, and the ride was 5 hours. It gets long.
There's more, but the hotel is overall a very nice place to stay for either your family or yourself and your significant other.
