BUGS in the room!

I booked a room for my boyfriend's birthday for October 2nd, 2010. There is some type of construction on the outside of the hotel, which greatly diminishes the initial appeal. Checking in was fine and the concierge was pleasant. The lobby itself is quite nice However, when I entered the room I was very disappointed.
At the rate of 279 + tax a night you'd expect a nice room, but it was very small and dated. That I could have lived with, but there was BUGS everywhere in the room! I called down to the front desk to inform them of the insects in my room and the lady said the only thing they could do is send someone to spray the room. I could not believe that. They didn't even offer to get us another room. I have stayed in many hotels and I have NEVER stayed anywhere with bugs all over the place! After filling the ice bucket we left to return to find 20 or so small bugs floating in the melted ice. Totally unacceptable. When I informed the front desk upon checking out, the lady said she'd "make a note". This hotel is a terrible place t stay. I've had better experiences in lower-priced chains.
Beyond the bugs the room itself was not clean. There was a hole in the curtains and the view was terrible - all we could see was the ugly roof. I would never stay in this hotel. I can not believe the state of the room we stayed in and the fact that the hotel did not have the decency to do anything to compensate for the infestation in the room.
I will definitely advise friends and family NOT to stay here.
