A pleasant experience overall

We stayed at the hotel on May 18th and 19th as we were coming over to a concert at Casino rama. Check in was very good and efficient, McCabes restaurant is good, people are very friendly and accommodating. The garlic cheese bread is really good, other than that average food served. We used the free shuttle bus over to rama from the hotel. It was great, we didn't have to worry about parking over there, and my husband was able to have a few drinks and enjoy himself with the shuttle service. The rooms are very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. It is an older hotel and is in need of a few repairs, and a newer environment, but it is clean. In the morning I heard hammers banging, and it was construction workers outside of our room, they are putting on a new roof, so it was noisy in the daytime. We enjoyed the nice warm swimming pool, but from ten thirty till eleven thirty in the morning on the 19th the pool was open but there was an instructor teaching four children lessons. So we didn't stay very long, there was lots of room, but you didn't want to disturb their lessons, so we came back later on to swim. The only bad thing I would say is the staff who are at the reservation desk, could be more informed about certain things. We asked about some of the tv channels and they couldn't help us, we also asked what was happening around Orillia to visit, and they didn't know of anything. We likely won't come back again, but just because we like to try other hotels for variety, but overall we enjoyed our stay at The Highwayman Inn.
