Embassy West Hotel, Ottawa

The staff was very welcoming. I thought the room keys were cool. They have bracelets that just scan in place of room keys. They also had the scannable cards. The rooms were nice! I had a good nights sleep in that big bed. the shower was also big, moreover the room itself was big. I really enjoyed my stay! The breakfast was delicious!

i loved everything! nothing to complain about! the restaurant is a hidden gem, and I love the food ! they have amazing staff, so helpful, polite, and friendly. Nice pool on site, and newly renovated rooms, with mini kitchens, and plasma tv's. 5-10 minutes from downtown, which is really convenient. best value !!!

We found the front desk indifferent. While I was checking in the phone rang and the attendent addressed the call rather than putting them on hold. She then handed me the room keys without telling me the room number or how to get to the room. The air conditioning in the hotel was not working and all the desk could offer was a fan to move the warm air around. This should have been mentioned at the check in with some form of compensation. In regard to the room the TV was unplugged and their was a large brown mark in the bath tub. I did not get to sleep until after 3:00AM because of the heat and no one at the desk seemed remotely concerned. No one even thought to ask how our stay was.

Its tricky to get to and from for someone who dosent live in or near the city. It is definetly what you pay for. My 8 day stay was not peaceful in any way. I would not recommend this hotel if youre looking for R&R or have children.

Although, this hotel is not like staying at the Plaza or the Ritz, you get more than what you pay for. You get good, clean service, nice Canadian people and mainly you don't walk out feeling ripped off. Highly recommended for any quick or long stay in Ottawa.
