Will never stay here again....EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/10
First, the positive. The staff at the reception desk did their best to be helpful, and were happy to hand out coffee cups and coffee packets (that house-keeping had omitted to do on several occassions during my two weeks here - thank goodness my company was footing the bill). They were even able to re-book me in a room with a fridge when I asked.
Now, the not so good stuff. Housekeeping was poor. As already mentioned, lack of coffee and coffee cups. I don't think my room was vacuumed more than once during my stay. The hot water supply must have been rationed, as it was always cold within 3 minutes in the shower.
And I've saved the worst until last.......THE FIRE ALARMS. Three (3) false alarms in one day (3am, 8am & 8pm) - plus another 3am one a week earlier. I don't know why the bells thought it was Christmas, but I was told by one staff member that they were having "problems" with the alarm system, and I overheard some other staff talking about this being a regular occurance. However, at no time did anyone from the hotel advise me or my associate (staying in another room) the reason for the alarm (eg. "sorry sir, but it was a false alarm"), or apolofise for making me stand outside in the cold in my pj's because the alarm system has been set in random mode!
I will be advising my company not to use this facility again - the Best Western is straight over the road, and the Valhalla is only a minute away.
