The Fairmont Empress, Victoria

My husband and I arrived when the Festival of Ships were docked in the bay outside of the Empress Hotel. We enjoyed just walking around the bay and when the Government complex across the street lit up that evening, it was breathtaking. We also took a tour of the Butchart Gardens outside Victoria which are the most beautiful garden we ever saw.

I think it is a unique and wonderful place. In my opinion, everybody should go and visit this place.It is good for both i.e., singles and with family.

The location right on govt street is ideal. The spa has everything, use of the pool. Its own herbal spa, everything there for your needs. Plus the message itself was awesome. The whole treatment was ideal spa day.

Elegance and ultimate comfort and class. The very best Canada has to offer can be found at the Empress in Victoria, BC The location is right next to waterfront and steps from fine restaurants and shops. The parliament buildings are nearby. High tea at the Empress can't be missed and all will enjoy their experience and cherish all.

The Fairmont Empress is breathtakingly amazing! The moment you walk up to this hotel you are in awe of it's beauty. The spa and many shops with in the hotel make even a rainy day of your vaction worthwhile. I highly recommend this hotel! I promise you, you will never want to leave! If you can only afford to spend one night here...it is worth every penny!

We had a great stay, the food was awesome, the beds are great, the service is top notch, everything from the bell hops to the concierge service was #1.

The Fairmont Empress is one of the finest hotels on the North American continent. Some of the most beautiful grounds, gardens, and greenery you will ever see. Fabulous staff, immaculate rooms, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Built in 1908, it was recently renovated with all the modern appointments without losing any of its old world charm. High tea is expensive but worth it, and dinner and drinks in the Bengal Lounge are pricey but very very nice. Ideally located right on the waterfront, in the center of everything. Worth every penny and then some. Note-rooms are not air conditioned, but you don't need it in British Columbia-an open window and the ceiling fans are all anyone will ever need to be comfortable. Full line drugstore and pharmacy right across the street from the back door, a few blocks from Chinatown and the cruise terminals. If anyone in your party is interested in gardening, botany, or flowers, they'll love it.

This is a grand old victorian style hotel. It is in the best place in town. Almost everything is in walking distance. Our hotel did not have air conditioning, but we didn't it. This hotel is an older hotel, so it isn't quite as modern, but it is nice. It is one of the few places in town, that every single person would know of the building, because it is so large. It is right on the water, so you can easily catch any of those activities right in front of the hotel. Also, the bus staging area is in the rear of the hotel, so that is easy as well. The museum is right across the street and the shopping is also in walking distance.

I liked this hotel. It had great service and they were very kind. This hotel is children friendly and is in the heart of the most exciting place in the city.If you are staying here, be sure to check out the Butchart Gardens, Grayline Bus tours are covienently located right out the magnificent entrance. They have a swimming pool that is good for all ages and even for very young kids (they have a nice heated kiddie pool).This hotel blew me over by it's magnificent charm.

This place has charm pooring out the walls, being a old hotel, it delivers warmth and charm. You can sit down and look at history. Having tea at high tea time is so charming. It gives you a chance to reflect on the day at hand. Their service is one of their better aspects, fast and pleasing people work their. When you have had a delicious dinner, a short walk around is pleasant. Your rooms are comfy and very clean. If you have any requests all you do is call the front desk and they are sure to help you if it is in their means. They go beyond the word of helping, they are plain right out friendly people. I have returned may times and have told others of the hotel and I know for sure they have told their friends of this charming hotel. Word of mouth is a good way of advertising.
