During a very difficult heart surgery my mother had at the Royal Columbian Hospital, I stayed there for a month. I myself was very sick and when the staff found out not only were they concered about how my mother was, they also were very concered about me. They always asked if there was anything thing they could do for me..when they brought my meals to my room ( Tula )she would put it on the table for me because I was unable to lift ANYTHING even a simple tray of food.
When I needed a taxi they were right on it as soon as I asked. It became a routine and they knew it. I would leave to go visit my mom in the hospital they would say I hope all is well. I cried because of stress they were there to talk to me and just listen. There was 1 VERY lovely lady ( Tula ) who worked in the dinning room and brought me my meals..She was always there to talk and was so helpfull I was so comforted by her words. When my mother did get out of the hospital they moved us to another room so that she would be more comfortable. My mother and I walked very slow to the dinning room because she had MANY stiches. The lady at the front desk was so concerned about mom going down the steps to the dinnig room. When we got there ( Tula ) was wonderfull, she told my mom if there was anything at all she needed just to ask. When the time came for us to leave it there was alot of snow. I have a large truck and mom was not able to get in. they brought a step out so mom get in easier and they held her as I was helping into the truck. There was well wishes for the both of us. We retuned a few times when my mom had to make a trip to the hospital, but we just stopped to have lunch, they remeberd us, they once agian were nice.
