Event Planners - Go Somewhere Else!

I was at this hotel for a conference. This hotel advertises that they have a complimentary airport shuttle but after calling from their post at the airport numerous times and being told it was on the way, after waiting 45 minutes we just took a cab instead. Front desk staff seemed unaware of arrangements that our rooms were to be charged to our company account despite this being arranged several months in advance and confirmed again before we arrived in Calgary. My room was clean, however the door took some strength to close - had to pull with all my weight to get it to shut each time (with a LOUD slam) and I could hear others on my floor doing the same. At our event, our boxes of supplies that we shipped out for our event were nowhere to be found and nobody seemed to know where to find them. It took 45 minutes for someone to track them down. The rooms were set up wrong despite floor plans being approved prior to our event, food was not great (steak served very overdone and we were given butter knives to eat it - no steak knives in sight!) and staff were almost impossible to find if you needed help to resolve any issues. There was no follow up call after our event by our catering contact. When I finally called her five days after the event to give her a list of our disappointments (including the lack of follow up call) there was no apology issued, no validation to our concerns. If you are in charge of planning an event, my advice to you is go somewhere else!! Anywhere else!! The employees at the Coast Plaza Hotel do not show any concern for the success of your event or having a happy client. I would NEVER go back to this hotel.
