Exceptional hotel in downtown Edmonton; Great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/17/05
This is a landmark building in Edmonton and - at one point in the 1960's - thetallest building in the city.
The hotel has a kind of retro-cool to it - with it's circular architecture and rotating restaurant at the top of the building.
The views from the rooms and the restaurant are amazing.
The rooms are very comefortable and homey - and are pie slice-shaped. The rooms seem to be updated with new furniture - but still seem to have an upscale 60's feel to them.
The room was not huge - but very comfortable.
The rotating restaurant is upscale - but the food was amazing. Make sure you try the deserts - especially the cheesecake.
Also, the room price makes this an exceptional deal. I paid $69 for a room with an amazing view of the valley during peak season. That just can't be beaten.
Overall, staying here was extremely satisfying and I will certainly stay here next time I am in Edmonton.
