BEST FAMILY VACATION E-V-E-R
Liked everything!! For starters, every worker and wrangler was so unbelievably kind, friendly, and helpful. The helpers in the food service area were happy and attentive, and by day 2, they were automatically bringing a pitcher of tap water (we’re from Southern California and our tap water is less than stellar) because they remembered from the first day.
Cabins were adorable and spacious, the lodge was cute and homey-feeling, and the views were phenomenal. The horses were always tacked and ready to go, and every wrangler was fun, extraordinarily nice, talented, and knowledgeable, and led us on many, many different (and scenic) trails. Most if not every trail has some amazing view of the Teton Mountains.
So many activities are included in the price: Paint ball, tomahawk throwing, archery, roping, fly fishing, 1 or 2 hour trail rides twice a day, an all-day ride, a ½ day ride, a sunset cookout and ride, the rodeo, the “in-ranch” rodeo, a float down the Snake River, a tour of Yellowstone – it was all so amazing. Perfect for everyone, even if you don't like to do a lot of activities because there is no pressure to "do it all" - you can try everything, nothing, or just some of the things.
The guitar player and singer the evening of the cookout was fun, entertaining, and downright great and the western band that played on the last night was, as well.
Perhaps the most important and relaxing thing about our stay at The Heart Six, was that it felt like an old-fashioned family vacation – you know, the kind where the family hung together (and sometimes didn’t), but it was safe and fun. Our one week at the ranch honestly provided me one week of having no concern whatsoever of the security of our kids (even when I had no idea where they were off playing). I absolutely without question knew that they were safe from danger and strangers, so I was able to relax and enjoy every moment of every day.
Disliked: absolutely nothing, and reading some of the negative comments from 2007 are disappointing and honestly not believable. I don't know what horses they were talking about, but every single horse looked healthy and clearly were very well taken care of. And, I thought everyone was incredibly nice and helpful, including Karen and Jesse (and even our kids didn't find them hard to talk to).
