A stand-out!
This resort is a stand-out in a region of overpriced, underwheming offerings. We were a little uncertain to take a room (the last one) at the price, but went ahead after we were able to view it. The desk clerk was very accommodating, along with everyone we encountered. Food at the restuarant was good and the bar-keep on his toes, pulling locals to dine and sip. The pool, though, was overtaken by families who screamed and jumped for hours in the new pool house, leaving no quiet time for us old paddlers. One family stayed in the spa (hot tub) so long that the water was beat to a frothy foam was bubbling over the rim. Chairs and benches overlooking the Snake River were placed for wonderful viewing. The rooms are a choice of one-story, "tower rooms" with balconies viewing either the river or mountains, or little cabins. Grounds and fountains are charming. I met the owners who were prowling the grounds (pulling up errant weeds), chatting up with their employees. They are proud of their restored resort, and should be rightly be so. The additon of a drive-through booze store is an interesting business choice, but seems to catch clients-local and tourists alike.
