Looked, but did not stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/11
I had reservations, but when I looked at the room I decided not to stay. The rooms are very old and not well maintained. The pool is the same. I was able to change to a local motel, while not great was better value than the Ramada. I expected the Ramada to be more like a Best Western. No Quality at this hotel, very disappointing.

Completely unprepared and understaffed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/20/11
I stayed at the Ramada whiles attending a large 3-day seminar at the attached convention center. The convention and rooms were booked months in advance. The hotel was full, and was completely unprepared to handle a large group even though the convention and rooms were booked months in advance. It took 45 minutes in line to check in, even though there were only about 5 people ahead of us in line, because there was only one person at the front desk even though they knew that everyone was checking in that day. We all received tickets for breakfast, but the kitchen and restaurant were so understaffed that there was almost no food, coffee, or waitstaff available. I felt sorry for the staff who were working; they were trying their best, and were surprisingly pleasant considering they had a couple hundred angry people to deal with. Astonishingly poor management - it's their job to make sure that they are adequately staffed and that staff are prepared.

NEVER STAY HERE
By Peter, 8/5/10
First of all I would never EVER stay here because I used to work here and it was only for two days because the restaraunt also known as Porter's is completly unsanitary to the point where I stronly considered calling the Health Department on them. The employees would drop food on the floor and pick it back up and put it on guests' plates and I never saw anyone wash their hands. All the banquet rooms are a dump, the employees do not have any standards at all, and no staff member seems to care. When I told a maintenance worker that one of the ceiling tiles was all moldy and dripping water causing the carpet to mold, he replied "who cares?" and he was serious. The hotel is so dirty, and outdated. The rooms smell, carpet is dirty, ceiling tiles are moldy and the overall complex carries a stench that can be smelt around the whole block! I would stay in any other cheap motel than every stay here!!!!!

would never go back
By wallybat, 7/12/10
My sister's wedding was in the lower reception hall and a majority of the guests stayed at this hotel. The rooms are not updated, the ceiling tiles were crooked and dirty and the A'/C wasn't working in the rooms, in the bar or in the event rooms. we have a long list of complaints beginning with the fact that the AC does not work. when we complained at the front desk they claimed that the rooms had motion detectors so that the a/c would only run when someone was in the room. Well that logic did not work as we were in the room for quite some time and we were still sweating. We finally were able to get a box fan and that helped a bit but it seemed like the a/c didn't kick in until about 1am when it was 65f. All the other guests at the hotel that were in our wedding party had the same issues. My sister's 'PLATINUM SUITE" had the same issue and they sent a maintenance guy up to pretty much verify that yes one of the units was broken and was just going to blow hot air and the other unit was working fine. (fyi: this suite is about 3xs the size of a regular room, so you really need the a/c to work. so when the wedding party was getting ready we were sweaty and cranky. the reception: they let people in the hall before cocktails were over and before the bride/groom were done with the receiving line. the servers served the salad before people were in the room and by the time the wedding party sat down we had about 2mins to eat our salad before they served the entree. They also started to serve the cake BEFORE the ceremonial cake cutting, so we sent the servers back and told them to wait. fyi: they served our cake on styrofoam plates ! The event coordinator said she would be on site all evening but I only saw her once at 11;30am and never again. We needed towels and a mop to clean up spilled beer and i couldn't find anyone to help besides the bartenders who were nice enough to give me a pile of napkins. I had a really good times with friends and family but the Ramada failed at nearly every task. we had one previous visit in March where we didn't need a/c but found the pool to be filthy, the fitness center to be a joke and the front desk staff not welcoming. The only good thing was the cheap breakfast, they give you a $3off voucher or a free breakfast of their choosing.

Awful and dirty!
By Jennifer, 3/15/10
Awful and dirty. The lobby looks updated and nice but the rooms are disgustings. The sofa was missing a leg, hair all over the bathroom floor, mold infesting the bathroom, the windows were so grubby with hand prints you could hardly see out the window and worst of all we found a worm (nasty little bugger to) in the bed!!!! Needless to say we didn't stay the night! We have yet to see if they refunded our account!

Horrible place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/09
I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel. The reception person was not welcoming. The carpet beside the king size bed is supposed to be dark red but it was white from all the dust. The swimming pool walls were disgusting. We stayed there for a 10th birthday party and there were four kids so after swimming we were going to watch the Disney channel and Nickelodeon before bed. Disney didn't come in well at all and there was no Nickelodeon. When I pulled the tv out to adjust the coax in the back there was so much dust it was disgusting to touch. The bottom of the tub was covered with soap scum. There was no way to adjust the heat to a comfortable temperature. It got way too hot so we had to turn it off and then it got cold. At midnight I woke up to the sound of the band from the convention center. The curtains would not open but that was not a big loss since the view was of a roof. We got the bed and breakfast package so I expected breakfast to be included. It was not. I paid $30 for breakfast. The only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one is because when we called to ask for more towels they were promptly brought to us with a smile. Other than that I would not recommend this hotel.

I don't recommend
By DeborahO, 10/20/08
We booked through Hotwire.com. Once I heard we were staying at a Ramada we were excited until.... we entered our room.. Stained ceiling, white stains on couch, pool area gross, but the bed sheets had stains, and ,,,, our tub was clogged.. But I guess I can't complain we got the room 1/2 off the original price through hotwire.. However, never will we stay there again. I felt bad for the people that were staying there for a wedding.ugh!! Nope I wouldn't stay again.!@!

Very Unhappy -
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/07
If you like a smelly, rock hard bed, stained ceiling in the bathroom, mold spores permeating from an air-conditioner that's filter hasent been changed since it was bought in 1973, very outdated furnishings, bright red carpeting and the lovely sound of a dump truck outside your window at 3:00 in the morning on a Saturday then you WILL LOVE the Eau Claire Ramada Inn! Because of this experience we will NEVER trust or stay at a Ramada Inn ever again. Unbelievably terrible stay for $109. We could have stayed at a motel 6 and been WAY happier than this dump.

Would Not Go Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/05
I was expecting to have a comfortable stay at the Ramada Inn; however, when our group checked in, the stay became anything but comfortable. First, I was told that the hotel provided a free complimentary breakfast -- Not true. Second, our group was told on two separate occasions that we would recieve "free" transportation to Country Jam. This too was false. Upon our arrival we found that we would have to pay for a taxi or bus to drive us to the Jam grounds. Lastly, I was very disappointed by the service at the reception desk. We had to wait 15+ minutes to check in because no one was at the desk. Fortunately, I do have to compliment the house keeping staff. Our rooms were kept clean, and we never ran out of fresh towels. Thank you.
